What Is Moral and What Isn’t?

“Men buy our votes with our blood, giving us false and measly promises, and then do as they please with our money and us. Jesus Christ bought our votes with His blood, promising abundant life far beyond what politicians could imagine, yet His promises are sure and true. My vote is for Him.” – For Whom Do We Vote?

One reader had the following to say after reading For Whom Do We Vote?:

“After reading your article this is my answer. By not voting you are worrying more about chemicals and genetic enhancements of food than you are about moral issues. I prefer to vote for those who have the same moral values that I do than not to vote and ensure that the liberals who promote abortion, embryonic stem cell research and gay marriage etc. win the election.”

Chaplain Lois

Victor’s response:

Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ, Lois,

Paul replied to your letter and I too would like to say a few things for your sake and for the sake of Truth.

If you had read our former correspondences, you would in no way be able to say that we are “worried” or that we are preoccupied with chemicals and genetic “enhancements” of food. As an aside, genetic modification is not enhancement at all; rather, it is perversion. It is the wisdom of man presuming to be greater than the wisdom of God, yet in the context of worshiping mammon. In genetic modification, they are adulterating and destroying much of God’s creation. This they do out of greed and lust for power. They cannot patent, and therefore cannot claim for their own, natural substances. Therefore, they must alter those things wisely created by God, patent them, and cash in. Furthermore, there are longstanding designs and moves by giant multinationals to control food supply (this is no secret), again, for mammon’s sake. As for chemicals, why do you think that as you stand beside two other people, one of you will fall victim to cancer, and the acceleration of incidence fast approaches one in two? While that is a more specific topic for another time, it is most definitely all about morality, Lois. Jesus said the issue was this:

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24 KJV).

Of course, mankind’s perversity neither begins nor ends with chemicals and genetic modification, even as you have pointed out with your examples of abortion, homosexuality, and the like.

It comes as no surprise that we would receive such a naïve and ignorant reply from someone who presumes to be a chaplain. You are there to be a spiritual guide, representing God’s interests, yet know nothing about them. Therefore, you are not a true minister of God though you call yourself a chaplain. God prepares His servants, and sends them out speaking the truth, giving the whole counsel of God. You have chosen a career you thought might be of use or for whatever reason, but you err, and you also bring condemnation on yourself because while you presume to teach and guide, you have great need of learning. James said this:

“My brothers, do not be many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we all offend. If anyone does not offend in word, the same is a full-grown man, able also to bridle the whole body” (James 3:1-2).

The apostle Paul also spoke words that may apply to you as well:

“But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression” (1 Timothy 2:12-14).

These are not historical situations as some argue. These are eternal truths, if you honestly observe the context. If you agree that the Bible is the Word of God, as Jesus declared, and if you seek to serve and to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth, then you will have to agree with Him.

We speak not our words but His. You are speaking yours. You are not prepared to vote for “Liberals” because they kill the unborn. However, you are prepared to vote in the Republicans or Conservatives, because they presumably take a stand against abortion, though by their policies they ravage all levels of creation with “free enterprise,” killing you too. Chemicals kill microorganisms, all insects, including bees (Where will we be without pollinators upon which much of our food production depends?) and butterflies. They kill birds and animals that get sprayed or that eat the insects and vegetation. They pollute all waters…rivers, lakes, wells, oceans, and aquifers. Genetic modification unleashes millions of Frankenstein monsters upon the environment and us, which already are demonstrating their evils.

You say these are not moral issues? Wake up, get some knowledge, and stop being simply religious. Lois, there are more people dying of chemically induced diseases than there have been abortions. How many hands have you held in such situations? What kind of solace have you been able to offer them? What kind of stand are you taking in preferring one batch of murderers for another? All men are murderers. As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no not one; there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable, there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open grave, with their tongues they have used deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their way, and the way of peace they did not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:10-18).

As Jesus said to Nicodemus, so I say to you: If you can’t understand physical matters, how can you possibly understand the spiritual? You are in darkness about the most elemental truths of God, Lois, and you presume to be a chaplain? I hope for the grace of God to be bestowed on you that you may avail yourself of our ministry so that you may be delivered from your darkness into the Light. John said, “If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin” (I John 1:9).

There is a price to pay in following and serving the Lord. That price is you. You must die. The cross is the only way. You must repent of yourself and of putting confidence in men. That is what it means to vote for the Lord Jesus Christ.
