Victor’s letter in reply:

Hi Evelyne,

I expect you found this letter hard and unacceptable, and not only the letter but also the authors and the general correspondence? I am sorry if you do. My son and I were reading in Exodus today about how Aaron and his sons were to fulfill their duties as priests. Blood was splashed on the four walls of the altar, on the people, on their garments, on the lobes of their ears, large right toes, and right thumbs.

Aaron and his sons had white linen garments. Imagine the appearance with the blood splashed on them. Imagine the duties of all those sacrifices, the cutting, the splashing, and the burning, when they performed their holy, priestly duties. The whole burnt offerings were burned completely and the Lord said they would produce an aroma pleasing to Him. Have you ever had to burn a carcass and smelled it? I have. It is anything but pleasant. Yet the Lord spoke of a sweet savor.

I think that we are living in a day when these kinds of things turn us off. We cannot stand reality. That is one of the foundational reasons as to why we are ill. We are religious, we are nice, diplomatic, inoffensive, polite, political, kind, sociable, sweet, smooth, tactful, gentle, meek, and loving, and it is for the most part, unreal, disingenuous, superficial, artificial, contradictory, feigned, substitutionary, and phony. We think the Lord is that way, was that way in the flesh, and we think that we are Christian when we act that way.

Nobody is speaking the truth. We have all tried to “win souls to Christ.” It is not happening. It is not real. It is not life. It is the things that Satan wants for us.

Is it not time someone stood up and spoke reality? Is it not time God had HIS say? Has man not had his turn? Where did it get him? We have been poisoned with unreality, Evelyne, and it has made us very sick, from the crown to the sole. That same sickness is manifest in the physical. We look to logical explanations and causes, and do not find them. We justify ourselves, and find no solution. We try to bear it, but will not face reality. No, we should not be brutish; we should not be cruel, nor belligerent, nor vengeful, nor unceremonious, but today, few know the difference between good and evil or right and wrong…until their hearts are bared, truly bared before the Lord, prepared to be exposed to the ugly cross Christ bore. Then, identifying with something as ugly as that, salvation comes. What a horrible spectacle as the center of God’s history and theme of life! What a way to bring us to fulfilment! Who can understand?

Little wonder that we are ill. How can we walk in pretence and false impression of truth, as taught by the harlot churches and their ministers, profess faith in Christ, and not suffer short-circuiting, one way or another, sooner or later? As it is written:

“The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

And: “For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light? Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Nobody calls us angels, I assure you (not that you need assurance), and few would say we come as “angels of light.” We are not nice enough. Perhaps you are not unsubscribing because the correspondence is hard and direct. However, I wanted to say these things to you, just in case. I do not do it to defend myself. God grant you grace, Evelyne.

Contending earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints,

Victor
