Reprove Darkness, Instead of Justifying It

Interesting but I think a little harsh: I have relatives and friends who followed/ follow Warren, attend his sermons , buy the books, go to home meetings. I think a lot of it is positive in gettjng people into helping others and thinking about things other than Dancing w the Stars.

But I think Warren is too sociological and not really Biblical. Also that his sermons and programs are really for people between 18 and 40, who have had little prior church experience .his DVD seminars are ok if one does not take them too seriously . All about “life skills” we either never had or forgot about.
Thanks pls

Phil, imagine yourself speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ and His ministry as you do of Rick Warren. For examples, “too sociological and not really Biblical” and “his DVD seminars are ok if one does not take them too seriously.

Rick Warren comes as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ, presuming to be an ordained minister of His Gospel. Jesus sent His disciples out to represent Him and to speak the unadulterated Truth. He said, “As My Father has sent Me, so I send you.” You admit Warren falls short. True men of God do not fall short; they do not commit or possess the error you speak of with Warren. Warren’s doctrine is poison that dulls the mind, lulls the conscience to a sleep it may not wake up from. It destroys.

And what do you expect from a deceiver if not some truth mixed with error? Blatant lies that anyone can easily tell are lies?

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 MKJV
(13)  For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
(14)  Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light?
(15)  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

The truth is harsh, simply because it takes an adamant stand against the world, which, John says, lies in wickedness and hates its Creator and all those who are His. Middle of the road doesn’t cut it with the Lord Jesus Christ. He didn’t come only to get people out of mindless entertainment – He comes to give people life. They aren’t getting life at Warren’s church or yours – quite the contrary.

The question now is, why aren’t YOU aware of these things, instead of defending and justifying darkness? It can’t go well for you.

We do not know his true intentions . We do not know any Pastor’s true intentions . He may think he’s at his personal best and he may be a praying , humble man , after all.
If he’s a bit egotistical or arrogant at times , he still “puts on his socks , one sock at a time”…I think Jesus respects the natural / supernatural challenge.

So I try to look at the good side of people . But keeps me away from being anything more than a friendly observer (my girlfriend enjoys his sermons and sometimes I accompany her) is the amount of time he expects a serious follower to invest and the money he expects him / her to spend in books and CDs and DVDs often by his wife.

His followers do less and less ministering of people outside his tent .it has a cult like appearance the more one gets involved .

I have experience w Benny hinns brother William ‘s church and in 1978 I spent some time in a Way International seminar .

I stopped going to both . Despite obvious issues w money solicitation and other things , I do value a lot of what I learned.

I would not speak of any man exactly as I speak of God.

I should say to you that I believe in God the “Father” only . I don’t believe in the trinity because I say it is a conjuration of the nicean council which intentionally or unintentionally delivered nothing but confusion to a people once called “Jewish Christians”.

A loving Father does not reject his children who reject him; does not send them to eternal flames because they did not say the magic words . Heaven is real to me as the place I hope to return to. Hell is for impressionable 9 year olds .

Today people sit down to eat and then pray . To either God or Jesus . Maybe to the “person ” of the Holy Spirit /Ghost. It demagnifies God the Father because it says the Son and Ghost are also the Father in all respects . Total unnecessary confusion .

I ask why after 43 million years suddenly we needed an Intermediary . Saying in effect , you cannot go home to Father until you check w me or my Mother .

The immaculate conception only makes sense in the scenario that the human Mary was seeded by an extraterrestrial !

She was married to Joseph at the time . Strange .

It appears The remains if the family of Jesus have been found and can be identified as including Mary, Joseph , and Joshua [Jesus ‘ son?].

Strange a Rabbi would not be married and Jesus WAS a Rabbi in every sense of the word – he was Bar Mitzpha’d at age 12!

So anything outside The Father to me is for children and not even for them because it’s all in the physical inagination. The Bible clearly says God “is Spirit”. No gender identification other than for purposes of understanding .
