Dear Sir,
Re: https://www.thepathoftruth.com/falsehood-exposed/diabolical-doctrines/the-lords-supper.htm.
Your discourse leaves me even more confused. If you think it is bringing clarity, it is not, at least I don’t think it is.
I’ve been a believer since I was 10, filled with the Holy Spirit and water baptized at 13. IT’s been 40 years at least since then, and this whole topic still bothers me. In fact, I am really starting to dislike the love affair with communion service.
But your article, which I stumbled upon, I’ve read it over and over, and still can’t make heads or tails of it.
If it could be as simple as eating a potluck and waiting last in line, I’m cool with that.
But is the key to “discerning the body of Christ”, that when we mistreat brother and sister then in fact we are not really seeing what Christ did for us?
Paul warned the Corinthians that if they were not discerning the Lord’s body, partaking of it unworthily, that is, variously abusing brother and sister in Christ, disrespecting Christ in those in whom He dwells, they were eating and drinking judgment to themselves. Because of that judgment, he said, many were sick, and even dead.
We agree that this meal with His disciples was not the Passover meal, because the next day He became the Passover Lamb. That I can understand. So we don’t have Passover when we “share the Lord’s supper”.
Are you saying that when we simply come together as believers, that like bread and wine that is eaten becomes a “part of us”, in the same way Christ has become a part of us, and we a part of Him. If we abuse each other (whatever that means), then we are not discerning OF the presence of the Christ IN us. Because Christ would never abuse someone. Am I on the right track?
So if someone does not discern the presence of Christ in their fellow believer, they will have a tendency to say very nasty and unspiritual things to them. For instance, I constantly have people talking against speaking in tongues. They love the Holy Spirit, but speaking in tongues is of the devil. They take every moment they can to speak against it. But it does not bring life to them. In fact, just recently I heard they had contracted cancer. That scared me. Could they die for it, and do I have to tell them that speaking against the holy spirit can bring death, that they did not discern the presence of the Lord in me, and speaking against it brought death / sickness to them? I need some help here, because I want him to be set free from this. It was a form of abuse against another believer, and it is very disheartening to hear it. I would love to know what I could do to bring him the truth on this spiritual gift, and do it in love, that he may receive it and be healed.
Also, if indeed it is a form and tradition and Jesus did not really want us to have rituals, then I have to be ready to bring it up to our church, but need much more information to get it across correctly. Your article is a start, and I just need to know if I start this journey with them at some point, am I on the right track if I say we should not be ‘having communion” with bread and wine, but we should simply understand that the body and the blood are now part of us, and that the type and shadow are no longer needed, even though it seems to say pretty clearly, “as often as you eat and drink…remember me”? This could be taken to mean at every meal, remember Me.
Any suggestions on how we could be enjoying the body and the blood a bit better than just through a communion wine and bread? is getting together and singing, praying and hearing the word taught enough? Is loving and not abusing each other where it’s at? It would be oh so nice to say on Sunday communion, that we don’t need to examine ourselves before partaking of the bread and wine, but rather that we should be really confessing our sins one to another that we may be healed. And should this be a formal time of confession or informal, and what kind of atmosphere is needed for that… or is it simply that Jesus wants us to appreciate that He is in each of us, and that we can experience His presence simply by gathering together and recognizing that properly – discerning it properly.
I find this all quite confusing part of my Christian walk, and would really love to be catapulted into understanding it correctly.
Do you think that our fleshly nature always wants to “do something” to be in God’s good books? and the comfort of a ritual is what the devil likes us to be comfortable with?
I suspect the reason we are comfortable with having the ritual of communion is because even though we say are saved, we don’t act like it, and that means we have to confess a lot, and for the most part, the communion service does not give opportunity to confess to each other because that is embarrassing.
So we need a way to fix this obviously, but where would a church start to convince each other that we are off track and need a better way to fellowship with the Lord and with each other?
This article along with the one about Jesus as “personal saviour” have got me thinking, and methinks our church needs a lesson in good doctrine.
Sincerely
Rosemarie

Hi Rosemarie,
Your lack of understanding is the result of being immersed in manmade religion and not in the Lord Jesus Christ. This manmade religion is called “Babylon,” which means “confusion” and explains your state. To come to the Truth you must turn to the Lord wholeheartedly, repenting of confidence in yourself and fleshly knowledge, which has bound you to men’s diabolical doctrines and their deadly institutions.
“Concerning the works of men, by the Words of Your lips, I am kept from the paths of the destroyer” (Psalms 17:4 MKJV).

Counterfeit Christianity
In trying to mesh what we’re teaching in the Lord with men’s church doctrines, you’re taking on an unwise and destructive task.
“No one puts a piece of new cloth onto an old garment; for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the tear is made worse. Nor do men put new wine into old wineskins; else the wineskins burst, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved together” (Matthew 9:16-17 MKJV)
So if you pay heed and follow the Words and Ways of the Lord Jesus Christ as taught on our site and confirmed in the Scriptures, then you’ll begin to eat His flesh and drink His blood and have fellowship with His Body. Read How One Is Saved.
You need to come to the Lord by yourself and let Him decide what happens to your friends and associates. Your first responsibility is to love and obey Him.
Luke 17:26-35 MKJV
(26) And as it was in the days of Noah, so it also shall be in the days of the Son of Man.
(27) They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and the flood came and destroyed them all.
(28) So also as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
(29) but the day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from the heaven and destroyed them all.
(30) Even so it shall be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
(31) In that day he who shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise, he who is in the field, let him not return to the things behind.
(32) Remember Lot’s wife.
(33) Whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
(34) I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
(35) Two shall be grinding together, one will be taken, and the other left.
You ask:
“Are you saying that when we simply come together as believers, that like bread and wine that is eaten becomes a ‘part of us’, in the same way Christ has become a part of us, and we a part of Him. If we abuse each other (whatever that means), then we are not discerning OF the presence of the Christ IN us. Because Christ would never abuse someone. Am I on the right track?”
No, what we and the Scriptures are saying is that if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and take up the cross by faith, you’re partaking of His flesh and blood. In doing so and continuing in the light, He will be in you and you will be in Him. You’ll discern and honor Him in His Body, the saints of God.
And of course, the contrary is true – if you don’t take up the cross and walk with the Lord, you’ll not recognize His Body, the beginning of abuse (improper use). How can you honor and appreciate something you don’t recognize?
As stated in the writing:
“It’s that simple, though the Lord must open our understanding and reveal these things to us. How complicated men have made things by their carnal minds and religious spirits!”
You’re right here, Rosemarie, only the devil isn’t external. We’re the devil, the “man of sin” who needs to be dealt with and put away:
“Do you think that our fleshly nature always wants to ‘do something’ to be in God’s good books? and the comfort of a ritual is what the devil likes us to be comfortable with?”
Only faith in Christ, His faith, will cause us to prevail through the cross.
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:33 KJV).
