Hello, I read Russell Kelly’s book. But I have always known that tithing is not a Christian doctrine for the simple fact that I can read. It is not money, but food from the land of Israel. It is impossible for anyone to tithe Biblically today. If they say they are, they are lying to the Spirit, except in reality they are probably just ignorant. I’m not talking about giving or the Webster dictionary version of the word tithe. I’m talking about the Biblical tithing. In Galatians Paul has doubts about those who want to be under the law. I think he is questioning their salvation. Bottom line is there is no such thing as a “biblical principle of tithing” as many deceivers claim. That was whipped up by Judiazers. And there are allot of those around! There is only the Mosaic Law ordinances of tithing. (Well that and some pagan customs like we see with Abraham paying 10% spoil of war.) Romans 7 demonstrates that we cannot be married to Christ if we are still married to the law. The law did not pass away but was fulfilled in Christ. Colossians 2:14. Now we are married to Christ. When it comes to giving and our Christian walk, you can never go wrong with Grace. I will not support a tithing church. Paul calls such doctrine another gospel that frustrates the Grace of God.

Bud, do you have anything specific to say about our posting on Russell Kelly or tithing section?
Many people use the term “tithe” generically to describe their commitment to honoring the Lord, similar to what Jacob vowed when God revealed Himself to him.
“And this stone which I have set for a pillar shall be God’s house. And of all that You shall give me, I will surely give the tenth to You” (Genesis 28:22 MKJV).
Do you really think Jacob honored God with a tenth of what he received by giving Him food? And do you really believe Abraham was following a pagan custom when he honored Melchizedek? The Scriptures plainly say otherwise, recognizing Abraham’s tithe to Melchizedek as an offering to God:
Hebrews 7:2-11 MKJV
(2) To him [Melchizedek] Abraham also gave a tenth of all. He was first by interpretation king of righteousness, and after that also king of Salem, which is king of peace,
(3) without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest continually.
(4) Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
(5) And truly they who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priest, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the Law, that is, from their brothers, though they come out of the loins of Abraham.
(6) But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
(7) And without all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.
(8) And here men who die receive tithes; but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.
(9) And if I may say so, Levi, also, who receives tithes, paid tithes in Abraham.
(10) For he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.
(11) Therefore if perfection were by the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the Law), what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
This also destroys your notion that there is no such thing as “tithes” under the Melchizedek priesthood.
And in no way are we supporting the churches of men or their false ways. On the contrary we expose them as the works of the destroyer. If you’ve been reading on our site you would already be seeing these things.

I suspect you did not read his book.
As far as the heart, Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it?” This is why I am only interested in what the word of God says and not motives from a deceitful heart.
I’ll keep it brief. It is far to complex for me to address every point. They are all addressed in Dr. Kelly’s book. Suggest you read it so all your objections can be addressed. So I’ll just make a point or two.
There is no Biblical “principle” of tithing. In Galatians Paul says he has doubts about you who want to be under the law.
Abram followed Arabic customs of his one time 10% from the spoils of war to the local priest king. And he did not keep the 90%. If you want to be like Abram, what do you do with the 90%? I certainly hope you do not keep it. That would not be very Abram like.
It’s amazing when I go to grace giving churches, how much the giving exceeds the budget every week. This is because grace giving is Biblical and is of faith and not works. It’s amazing what God can do in a church were the pastor also lives by faith and trusting the the Lord will provide. And how He does!

Bud, so it’s fine for you to assert your opinions, and then criticize us in suspicion that we didn’t read the book you suggest? But now how about honestly responding to the counter arguments we’ve offered you personally? Why do you ignore those? And why do you insist on someone else arguing on your behalf? Just how knowledgeable and convinced ARE you of your position?
If there’s anything frustrating, it’s trying to talk to someone who will not take responsibility for his remarks and answer to the honest (and Biblical) evidence given contrary to his assertions. Your conduct demonstrates your insecurity; it shows you are insincere, arrogant, stubborn, biased, dishonest, ignorant, irresponsible, close-minded and very foolish.
Honestly and substantially answer our arguments. If you aren’t prepared for reasonable discussion, go your way and insist on your dogma elsewhere.

Dr. Kelly has already addressed all those arguments so you already have those answers. We both have the transcripts.
I can sense your rage. I don’t really know what it is that you are protecting by all this, but you are free to believe what you want. I just am grieved when I see new believers that are not yet mature in their faith being put into bondage by others under this legal yoke of slavery. Especially when the poor are exploited. That is not the way of Christ and it is certainly not Grace. – Bud

Bud, you don’t have a clue as to what you’re talking about. No rage here at all; however, you may be picking up on the wrath of God for your foolishness and error of men – it is certainly present.
I ask, “Why should we go rummaging through dumpsters to see if there’s anything we might be missing out on at the Vast Banqueting Table the Lord has spread out for us? How foolish and unbelieving would that be, especially when He has made it clear He has provided us with nothing but the very best? Shall we believe Him or liars like you?”
Here’s what the Lord has to say of such as yourself:
2 Peter 2:10-16 MKJV
(10) And especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise dominion. They are darers, self-pleasing; not trembling at glories, speaking evil.
(11) Where angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reproaching accusation against them before the Lord.
(12) But these, as unreasoning natural brute animals having been born for capture and corruption, speak evil of the things that they do not understand. And they will utterly perish in their own corruption,
(13) being about to receive the wages of unrighteousness, deeming indulgence as pleasure in the daytime, and reveling in spots and blemishes, feasting along with you in their deceits,
(14) having eyes full of adultery and never ceasing from sin, alluring unstable souls, having a heart exercised with covetousness. They are cursed children
(15) who have forsaken the right way and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,
(16) but had reproof of his lawbreaking, a dumb ass speaking in a man’s voice, held back the madness of the prophet.
