Buddhism, Christianity, and Jesus Christ

Just read your arguments of your faith vs Buddhism and am surprised at what you have missed about the Buddhas teachings via Thurman and Chopra.

I respect good Christians and good Buddhists for their compassion.

The Dalai Lama says constantly ‘My religion is simple….my religion is kindness.’

No hatred of other faiths, no prosletysing.

His peaceful attitude to the invading Chinese army and slaughter of one million Tibetans won him the Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes, Christ was a great person but those Crusaders and Christians who murdered pagans, stole Australian Aboriginal children from families and killed for their religion are totally sinful murderers So much for the practice of mercy, peace, love.

You can’t judge Christ by liars and imposters, Helen. Why do you put your trust in the Catholic Church and others calling themselves “Christians”? Haven’t you heard – “Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4)?

You and the Dalai Lama have put your trust in man. You trust in yourselves, but Jesus Christ said to the one who called Him “Good Master”: “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except one, God” (Mark 10:18 MKJV).

And here’s how Jesus treated those who thought He was a “great man”:

“But Jesus did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify concerning man, for He himself knew what was in man” (John 2:24-25 EMTV).

Jesus Christ wasn’t a “great man” – He was God in the flesh, and is God in the Spirit today, dwelling in those who receive Him and turn from themselves and their sins.

Proof Jesus Christ was God in the flesh? He resurrected Himself from the dead, unlike Buddha who is still in his grave. Only God could raise His mortal body, overcoming death. And by doing so, Jesus shows you the way, that you need Him in order to enter into life and to no longer live according to human “kindness,” which is in corruption and death.

“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6 MKJV).

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV).

You need to repent, Helen, to believe on the Name of the Only-Begotten Son of God.

You go your way and I will happily go mine as the Bible is not my ultimate source…..who knows about the complexities of its writing? There are many levels of communication in words. So what is interpretable as fundamental and literal truth to one reader, is a simple parable to another.

Where is God in Syria right this minute? Looking the other way…maybe this kind merciful Spirit sets out to punish the Muslims??? He should get cracking and save them all. Joke

No, Paul Cohen and Victor, karma of action, speech and thought is god as it brings results results results. Like the law of gravity, it is inevitable. Reap as you sow.

Please leave Buddha Dharma to those profound meditators who have actualised insights. Your quotes reveal just that, mindless quotes but little personal insight. Respect the Nobel Laureate Dalai Lama for his peaceful actions with the Chinese (and where was the living loving God when the Chinese were slaughtering Tibetans?? Another day off?)

Buddhism has changed the world through its practical teachings and peaceful examples. Long may it continue to spread.

With great respect

Helen, the Bible isn’t our ultimate source; the Lord Jesus Christ is. We understand the Bible and what it’s all about because we know the One Who inspired men to write all portions of it; He is the Author, none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. It is possible to know God through Him, as the Bible amply declares by many wise men, prophets, apostles, and saints. You don’t think that’s possible?

So, you’re smarter and better informed than they are – more so than Moses, Elijah, the apostle Paul, the Lord Jesus Christ and His disciples? Really? Just who do you think you are?

So you believe in Buddha, or in his teachings as superior to Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures that testify of Him? You choose to believe a dead man who couldn’t raise himself from the dead (not an unusual incapability), instead of the Living Lord Jesus Christ, the Only One Who DID raise Himself from the dead?

Is that a wise choice? Do you know what you’re doing? You see yourself as sufficiently wise to pass judgment on these matters? How so? Perhaps, you see yourself as quite enlightened, far above the ancients and God Himself?

Not saying there isn’t a legitimate way to be enlightened and pass judgment, but do you possess that way? We do.

You don’t think God brings judgment and executes sentence against evil? He does. The Scriptures plainly declare that He brings the sword, famine, pestilence and wild beast.

You ask where God is in Syria, or where He was in Tibet when the Chinese were slaughtering the inhabitants. He is and was in both places, enacting judgment, just as the Scriptures of which you’re so grossly and willingly ignorant say of Him.

“He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill them with dead bodies; He shall shatter heads over much of the earth” (Psalms 110:6 MKJV).

“Karma”? Yes, absolutely; the Bible says men reap as they sow and that God isn’t mocked. He is over all things. This truth was spoken long before Buddha lived on earth. You mock Him at your peril.

Should God be merciful to all, always? Says who? You? Who are YOU to dictate His morality?

And where are your “results,” Helen? Has Buddhism changed the world for the better? Says who? You?

The Dalai Lama is just another dark soul who needs to bend his knee to, and confess with his tongue that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. It will happen, as with all men. Then will men like the Dalai understand there’s no righteousness inherent in any man independent of his Maker, Jesus Christ.

We’re surprised, yet not, that you haven’t been able to recognize the mighty and unmatched impact of the Bible and of Jesus Christ on this world. You are another deluded soul steeped in darkness that needs to be enlightened. Jesus Christ is the Light of all men; by Him Alone, all things consist as they were all made by Him and for Him.

You say you’ll be happy to go your way. Not for long; we guarantee it. You can never have true peace without honoring The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

Being in sin as you are, it is impossible that you should have “great respect” for us and the Truth we speak. Can you sprout wings and fly to the moon? Don’t lie to us, Helen.

Turn from your sins. You have them and you know it. You can only perish in them, as you do even now.
