Hi Corneliu,

What does it mean that God created us in His image?

It means that God has made us with His attributes. Men think (here you are contemplating a matter no other creature on earth considers), communicate by speech (God is the Word) and create (He is the Creator). Like God, men know good and evil. And though this knowledge came through the fall of Adam, it was part of God's design to teach men that our only hope is in Him. Though in corruption, we continue having His attributes until He judges us and restores us in harmony with His will.

Psalms 82:5-8 BBE
(5) They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.
(6) I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:
(7) But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.
(8) Up! O God, come as Judge of the earth; for all the nations are Your heritage.

For more on this matter, read: Godhood The Destiny of Those Born of God.

Acts 17:24-28 MKJV
(24) The God Who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of Heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands,
(25) nor is served with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives life and breath and all things to all.
(26) And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling,
(27) to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from each one of us.
(28) For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also certain of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

When He is finished His work with mankind, we will be as Him:

1 John 3:1-3 MKJV
(1) Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
(2) Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
(3) And everyone who has this hope on him purifies himself, even as that One is pure.

Does this answer your question?
