Thank you Sean,

So the number given by this author is approximately 6000 years. This makes more sense than the 500 or so million years that scientist have come up with.

When very young I collected fossils and rocks, which was part of my geology hobby. I found a fossilized trilobite (still have it near my coffee maker). I hear there are much better fossils to be found in Alberta.
