The Philosophy of (False) Christianity

Post by Emmanuel Okpanachi »

False Christianity (and all false religion) is nothing more than philosophical... isn't it?

With all its 'ists' and 'isms'; how is it any different to philosophy? Philosophers reason, surmise, speculate, assume and analyse. Theologians do exactly the same things. Although all philsophers aren't theologians, all theologians are certainly philosophers.

Look at all the numerous theological schools of thought and movements - called 'churches': Calvinism, Pentacostalism, Catholicism, Mormonism, Baptists, Anabaptists, and Adventists; to name a few. Look at all the different philosophical beliefs and terms that have been concocted by false Christianity: Pan-millennialism , Trinitarinism, Binitarianism, Eutychianism, Mid-acts Dispensationalism, Pelagianism, for examples. So much 'ists' and 'isms'! So much schisms! So much difference, division and confusion. No wonder this convoluted system of philosophy - that is called Christianity by many - is divided as it is.

How philosophical and intellectual false Christianity is! It's a philosophical playground for carnally-minded men, the intellectuals; the wise, the learned, the educated and the ones who are 'puffed up' in knowledge (1 Corinthians 8:1). What does the bible say, in regard to those who claim to be wise and learned?

'Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?... But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are' (1 Corinthians 1:20 - 28)

'These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their hearts aren’t in it. Because they act like they’re worshiping me but don’t mean it, I’m going to step in and shock them awake, astonish them, stand them on their ears. The wise ones who had it all figured out will be exposed as fools. The smart people who thought they knew everything will turn out to know nothing.' (Isaiah 29:14)

'In that same hour He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure' (Luke 10:21)

The difference between true Christianity and its counterfeit version is indicated by that last quoted Scripture (Luke 10:21).

True Christianity is receiving true knowledge through revelation from God.

False Christianity (theology) is about gaining false (and sometimes true) knowledge through speculation about God.

If one has had revelations he or she needn't speculate (theologise); but if one has not had anything directly and personally revealed to them all they can do is speculate.

It is sometimes the case that reasoning theologians do happen to touch upon truth (like coming to the correct conclusion that Jesus is God). However, their arrival at such a truthful conclusion is merely coincidental. Theologians do happen to gain some truth, but they can in no way possess, or come to knowledge of, all truth. For there is truth which cannot be intellectually gained; only spiritually received.

I really appreciate how well you put this, Manny.

Yes, you can only know reality, truth, by abiding in the Father and what He reveals..which is true Christianity.

All else is speculation; theory; mixture of some true things, but all pathways to death, blind to the reality of life because man seeks to exist independantly of God...which, in reality, just isn't possible.
