Jesus calls us to follow him. We are to deny ourselves and pick up our cross (Matt 16:24) But how can we do that when we continue living to satisfy ourselves and the world rather than Jesus? When we begin to use Jesus to fulfill lusts of the flesh (money, power, pride, self, fame etc) then that isn't the Gospel we are spreading.
