Is it possible Jesus was a “
Son who was created by God at some time in eternity”? No, it’s not possible, Russell, because He is God and God has no creator. This isn’t our
opinion, but the Word of God:
John 1:1-3 MKJV
(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(2) He was in the beginning with God.
(3) All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.
If all things came into being through Christ, then He wasn’t created.
Colossians 1:16-17 MKJV
(16) For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him.
(17) And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
All things were created in Him – He is before all things.
You say: “
For why should evil exist when God has been in existence for eternity, for evil would have long been dealt with.”
Read
The Purpose of Evil.
You’re right about this: “
He [Jesus]
is a Son in the true sense in that He is obedient to His Father, as our Father in heaven wants us to be.”
Jesus was the perfect man of faith, laying down His will to do the will of the Father. God presented Himself to demonstrate to us just how His son should be. He is the Way for us to do the same and to become one with God.
Philippians 2:5-8 WEB
(5) Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
(6) Who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
(7) but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
(8) And being found in human form, He humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
