“Truth is so important and I know love does include the sharing and rebuking in truth but I also know Kirk Cameron has a passion to share Jesus with others and puts a sense of urgency in his message and does wonderful things for others that goes unseen by man but does it out of his love for God - shown through his love for others.”
What “Jesus” is Kirk Cameron sharing, Derek? Is it the Lord and Savior of all men, or another Jesus with another gospel, which Paul the apostle says is “accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9)? Is Paul’s saying and judgment too harsh and unloving for you – do you disagree with the Word of God?
Kirk represents another Jesus and false gospel, which our posting proves by the Scriptures. Should you dismiss that proof solely on your opinion and a misapplication of the Scriptures that don't apply?
Here’s more proof that Kirk doesn’t represent the Lord Jesus Christ Who is testified of in the Scriptures and in our lives.
In 2014, Kirk urged Christians to celebrate Halloween, claiming it’s not a pagan practice but actually a holy observance:
“‘
The real origins have a lot to do with All Saints Day and All Hallows Eve,’ the actor told The Christian Post. ‘If you go back to old church calendars, especially Catholic calendars, they recognize the holiday All Saints Day, with All Hallows Eve the day before, when they would remember the dead. That's all tied in to Halloween...’”
“
‘Early on, Christians would dress up in costumes as the devil, ghosts, goblins and witches precisely to make the point that those things were defeated and overthrown by the resurrected Jesus Christ,’ Cameron continued. ‘The costumes poke fun at the fact that the devil and other evils were publicly humiliated by Christ at His resurrection. That's what the Scriptures say, that He publicly humiliated the devil when He triumphed over power and principality and put them under his feet. Over time you get some pagans who want to go ‘this is our day, high holy day of Satanic church, that this is all about death,’ but Christians have always known since the first century that death was defeated, that the grave was overwhelmed, that ghosts, goblins, devils are foolish has-beens who used to be in power but not anymore. That's the perspective Christians should have.’”
Can anyone professing the Name of Jesus Christ, Who shed His blood resisting sin and the powers of darkness, honestly justify sending their kids out in devil costumes to collect candy from the unbelieving world as a testimony to the Lord and Savior? Truly, how is the person who doesn’t know the Lord supposed to see His victory over death by your son showing up at his doorstep for “trick or treats” with a devil mask? Cameron’s argument for celebrating Halloween is so darkened, asinine and shameful. How can you equate it to the teachings and ways of the Lord exemplified by His servants in the Scriptures?
Derek, how does celebrating death show the Lord’s victory over death? That’s like celebrating the Lord’s victory over alcoholism by going to a bar to get drunk, or celebrating His victory over fornication by going to a whorehouse to copulate. How could one not be ashamed to even think, much less propose what Cameron does as giving glory to God? The one who thinks and speaks this way loves only himself and this present evil world - not the Lord Jesus Christ.
You’re judging Kirk after the flesh, by his appearance and apparent sincerity. Those things are deceitful.
And can anyone looking at “Christian” America today honestly say that demons aren’t holding sway, contrary to what Cameron proclaims? Where do we see the Lord’s victory in the churches of men, which are given over to “gay marriage,” honoring Islam, with many in bondage to pornography, gluttony, entertainment, sports, following the ways of the world and perishing in horrible sicknesses and tragedies, upholding doctrines of devils and hypocritically condemning others? If that’s victory over devils, what is defeat?
At the time Cameron spoke out in defense of Halloween, he was also promoting his movie, “Saving Christmas,” which defends not only keeping this manmade observance, but all its pagan practices. Movie reviewer Peter Sobczynski (

“
To his [Kirk’s] eyes, every gaudy symbol of the season that is putting Christian [a character in the movie] off has deep-seated religious roots, and only by venerating them in the most ostentatious manner imaginable can one be truly close to God. Take Christmas trees and Santa Claus, for example—even though such things are never mentioned in the Bible, Kirk uses cherry-picked Biblical details, a certain degree of extrapolation and no small amount of smugness (‘Last I checked, God made the Winter Solstice’) to prove his points with such stunning finality that Christian instantly realizes that he has been the jerk all along for ‘terrorizing’ his family by not realizing, for example, that the giant stack of presents under the tree can suggest the skyline of the new Jerusalem.”
Is this “The Way of the Master”? Are you aware, Derek, of what God has to say about this ungodly “holy-day”? Read:
That Devilish Spirit of Christmas.
When I told Kirk that using the threat of “eternal torment” as a conversion fear tactic wasn’t Scriptural or Godly (neither does it lead to authentic conversions), he heard something that made him scramble for support from other religious “authorities,” looking for a way to refute the truth. Why? Kirk had no good reason to reject the lie that God is a torturer or liar Who is unable to fulfill His express will to make ALL things new and alive in Christ. (See the writings in
The Restitution of All Things.) But because his works and righteousness were at stake, which meant the end of him, Kirk sought a way, any way, to save his life. Now we see where that has taken him – justifying and promoting the celebrations of devils, sin, and idolatry.
“For whoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for My sake and the Gospel's, he shall save it” (Mark 8:35 MKJV).
