Have you ever been wrong and if so, have you admitted it?

Post by Russell Dickman »

Hi....I have been reading through some of your replies to questions and I have one for you. Have you ever had a poster who was able to correct you on what you believe or say.

That is, have you ever been wrong on what you say or how you say it and then admitted it?

No, Russell, no one has been able to correct us on the doctrine the Lord has given us to know and preach.

Do you find in the Scriptures anywhere that Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, or John the Baptist were wrong in doctrine and had to declare so publicly? Were they not properly prepared and inspired by God to present His message without error?

"But I make known to you, brothers, the Gospel preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but through the revelation of Jesus Christ" (Galatians 1:11-12 EMTV).

There once was a fellow who brought to our attention a discrepancy in the Gospel accounts of which we were aware, but hadn't considered closely before the Lord. That led to a correction in our thinking about the validity of Luke 23:39-43, which we've published here:

As saints correct one another when Paul rebuked Peter (Galatians 2:11-14), so we have corrected one another in our ministry.

Why are you asking?
