I knew John and his wife, Diane, long before he added Paul to his name. We were friends for a year or so back in the early 80's and attended COTR in Rockwall, Texas. My wife and Diane were friends, but John was an up and coming prophet and I was and still am a a Bible Thumper.
One evening after a home cell meeting in Las Colinas, John had attracted a group of women and was telling them how, if they travelled to Israel with him and his Rabi friends Aaron and Isaac Levi, that Jesus would appear to them secretly. I jumped in and reminded him that was exactly what Jesus warned us not to do in Matthew 24. That brought about and angry, public, scolding aimed at me. Even my wife said, he is a prophet and you are not.
Ouch! Next the church had hooked up with Paul Yongi Cho and was growing fast. Larry Lea ask many of us men for our thoughts on a new building. To kick it all off, they rented a giant tent that would make Shambock jealous.
John Jackson had to get in the middle of it all as usual. He prophesied that we would be meeting in the tent until the new building funds could be raised to pay cash. Men used up all their vacation time to set up chairs, spread saw dust floors, and build the stage. They even bought a $5,000 Piano. The big night came and Russ Taff was the special music.
Of course he was high on drugs and has since confessed to
Bill Gather he didn't believe what he was sing about, but that is another story. Well, Larry Preached, Russ sang, and even leaped off the stage like a rock star, and then they walked about 300 people down to Lake Ray Hubbard for a public baptism. Ahhh, what a night to remember.
However, the next day a tornado passed over Rockwall, leveling the tent, and smashing the Piano to bits. No mention of false prophet was ever leveled except when I went to Larry about John. His response was that he trusted John and after all, they had bought insurance enough to cover the tent and piano. I didn't last much longer.
I could go on, but write me if you really need more. Jesus warned us, but it is still so hard to live through the damage false prophets do. Isaiah said it best: the prophets prophecy falsely, the priest bear rule by their means, and the people love to have it so.!! Sorry for quoting from the KJV but Wescott and Hort were false as well. Please study the a Bible and shut off the TV...Love in Christ, Greg
False Teacher, John Paul Jackson before he added the Paul
Re: False Teacher, John Paul Jackson before he added the Pau
Hi Greg,
Your story about John Jackson confirms what we've described of his fruits according to the Word of God. Thank you for sharing.
You've named others whom we have or have desired to list as false teachers, whether by word or influence in nominal Christendom and the world in general. Bill Gaither has tickled the ears of many in the so-called “Gospel” musical field and is highly honored of men because he also has the mark of the beast that he can freely buy and sell.
“Concerning the works of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer” (Psalms 17:4 KJV).
We agree there's very little on TV of any value, particularly when it comes to “Christian” content. However, we use the backdrop of darkness to shine the light, which shines most brilliantly in darkness, doesn't it? After all, Jesus Christ created both for that very purpose that we may learn and grow in understanding as His servants, friends, sons and brothers.
Whether or not Westcott and Hort were false, the manuscripts they worked with are the authentic Scriptures, although all versions of the Scriptures we have today are tainted. It sounds like you're a King James Version idolater. Are you aware that the King James translators were by and large members and representatives of the works of men, false Christianity? Several were outrageous sinners and some even murderous persecutors of those of faith in Christ.
See our complete section on How We View and Use the Scriptures.
Only by coming to Jesus Christ and finding the truth in Him can one discern and rightly divide the truth of the Scriptures. Here's what the Lord says to those who elevate the Scriptures to the place He alone occupies:
“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And they are the ones witnessing of Me, and you will not come to Me that you might have life” (John 5:39-40 MKJV).
