We have a new posting in Afrikaans:

The Purpose of Evil (Die Doel van Euwel)

To know the purpose of evil is the question that confounds the wise, but it can be known and to this end is the paper written, declaring the sovereignty of the Lord our God. We can indeed know the purpose of evil.

Thank you for posting Sara. Who translated this? It's very hard to find like-minded people here in South Africa.

Oh, and you coincidentally picked a very ironic date to post this. Afrikaans people will know ;)

Hi - yes, many South Africans remember the 16th December, thus:

"In South Africa, 16 December is a day of great significance because of two important historical events that took place on that date. In apartheid South Africa, 16 December was known as The Day of the Vow or, The Day of the Covenant. On this date, in 1838, when the Voortrekkers were preparing for their battle against the Zulus – known as the Battle of Blood River – they (The Voortrekkers), took a vow before God that they would build a church should they be granted victory. They promised that they, and their descendants, would observe the day as a day of thanksgiving." It's also been referred to as "Dingaan's Day."
