On Church Attendance.

I came across your website this evening and I am intrigued. I haven't read all that I want to read as yet, but, I will meander through it.

I read your article regarding salvation. I scanned the “false doctrines” articles.

Here's my question. I do not attend church regularly. It is in my heart to do that so as to not avoid gathering with other like minded believers. Unfortunately every church in my area either teaches eternal torment for the unbelieving or the church is liberal and accepts just about anything as doctrine.

I'm not looking for advice, but I would like your opinion.

Thank you,
Jim Barnes

Hi Jim,

Do sheep select their own pastures, food, and companions, or do their shepherds guide and manage them? If Jesus Christ is your Shepherd, then you can be certain He is leading you where you need to be, step by step, everything in its place and time.

“God sets the solitary in families: He brings out those which are bound with chains…”

But if you're doing your own thing in His Name, then “the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psalms 68:6 KJV). Even though that land is populated by many and apparently prosperous.

“Righteous are You, O LORD, when I complain to You; yet I would plead my case before You. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive? You plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; You are near in their mouth and far from their heart” (Jeremiah 12:1-2 ESV).

“Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it” (Matthew 7:13 MKJV).

Giving you not opinion, but the Word of God, which isn't just advice - it's His commandments with sure promise.
