I am a reformed baptist/presbyterian.
I agree with the 1689 baptist confession of faith & the Westminster.
Their views are somewhat different of ecclesiology and baptism but overall, I believe it reflects the bible teachings.
What are your thoughts on that?
what do you think of Calvin's books, Christian Institution?
Thank you
Chris

Re: What do you think of Calvin's books, Christian Institution?
Hi Christophe,
Read the following on our site:
Excommunicated by Babylon
The Fruit of Cain Multiplied: The Murderer John Calvin
True Hope for Reform Church Members and All Calvin Doctrine Victims
Water Baptism
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Your question makes me think of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, the second chapter. The whole thing is applicable, but only by God's grace will you receive or understand any of it:
1 Corinthians 2:1-16 MKJV
(1) And I, brothers, when I came to you, did not come with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.
(2) For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
(3) And I was with you in weakness and in fear, and in much trembling.
(4) And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
(5) so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
(6) But, we speak wisdom among those who are perfect; yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, that come to nothing.
(7) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which God has hidden, predetermining it before the world for our glory;
(8) which none of the rulers of this world knew (for if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory).
(9) But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard," nor has it entered into the heart of man, "the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
(10) But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
(11) For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of man within him? So also no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
(12) But we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit from God, so that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.
(13) These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
(14) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(15) But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one.
(16) For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Re: What do you think of Calvin's books, Christian Institution?
Hello Chris!
I'm Martin, the one who experienced excommunication by Babylon in the article Paul shared with you.
I was raised heavily steeped in the teachings of Calvin, but the Lord delivered me. Praise God!
My father was a Canadian Reformed Pastor and preached all his sermons in line with Calvin's Institutions, and they're exactly that. They're Calvin's, not the Lord's. They're an evil fabrication of lies that malign the character of the One True God. A concoction of false doctrines attempting to remake the God of the Bible into the image of the merciless three-headed Trinitarian beast Calvin served.
Calvin's doctrine isn't just a diseased and twisted tree; it's also responsible for bearing hideous fruit.
I remember growing up with my brothers and friends in the church. We were only wrong if we were caught. There was no evil pleasure that we withheld from ourselves. It was rampant lawlessness. Stealing and lying were fair game. Coarse language and vile humour were encouraged. Drunkenness and sexual impurity were normal. There was incest, rape, and pedophilia throughout the congregations. All the while, we put on our Sunday best and insisted we were the most righteous of all people because of our “pure doctrine.”
In fact, my father and mother even warned us not to have fellowship with Reformed Baptists like you because you don't baptize children. My father teaches this is a “salvation issue” and didn't want his children unequally yoked to people destined for Hell. It wasn't enough to condemn all non-Reformed people; we also condemned everyone who didn't confess every precept of our doctrine, letter by letter.
Calvin “reformed” the Roman Catholic doctrines instead of trashing them and added evil to evil. Even though he was a strict moralist, and forced it violently on others, the doctrines that he invented trashed the Biblical focus on doing right and replaced it with a self-righteous insistence on being right. The only possible result of his crooked doctrines is lawlessness. He condemned the Catholics for teaching a “works based” salvation and basically replaced it with a “do whatever the hell you want as long as you don't get caught and subscribe to the right doctrine” salvation. Essentially, Calvinists teach that being a Christian is about confessing doctrines instead of confessing and repenting of your sins.
Calvin and his children of hell are more self righteous than Pharisees and more lawless than pagans. Those who follow Calvin, being ruled by his spirit, cannot help but be like him, liars and murderers. I have followed him and been so.
Chris, for the Lord's sake and yours, put away Calvin's doctrines and whatever religious institutions, creeds, or confessions men have come up with. Nicene, Athanasian, Apostle's, Westminster, Baptist's, etc....... It's all anti-Christ.
The Lord brought me here to The Path of Truth and He has given me and my family living water. He has brought you here. If He gives you to drink and you believe, you will have Life as well.
