Winning Souls with False Love
False teachers catch flies with the honey of lies, but God satisfies hungry souls with the truth through His cross.
We received the following letter in late July, 2015:
Hi guys!
Just ‘inadvertently’ found your site while looking for some info, and wanted to say a big Thank You for what you are doing!
I too have been out of ‘church’ since 1993 or so, am living for Him now in India, and confront the same errors as you write about, daily. Sigh. I wish it weren’t so, as if those who profess were really empowered and enlightened as they imagine themselves to be, why at least we’d have some good fellowship here!
The purpose of this note was to highlight another false teacher by the name of Leif Hetland. I had the opportunity to run into him in the Philippines a few years ago, and have since had the opportunity to confront many of his followers, which seem to be growing. There are other ‘names’ associated with this fellow too, Jack R. Taylor, etc.
These guys are going the way of Rome, and professes to be a ‘fathers’ who NEED to be obeyed and followed, but I’d rather you do the homework and come up with your own ideas. But it is utterly flabbergasting how many people want to once again come into bondage…
Love you in spirit; shalom.
Robert & Grace
Paul replied in early August:
Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ, Robert and Grace,
Good to hear from you. The world would indeed be a very different place if all the professors of Christ truly loved Him and knew Him. That’s quite an awesome thought to contemplate.
We ourselves were alone for many years, but all according to God’s plan. Had He not delivered us, we would be among those in darkness, whether professing faith or not. But He has all men well in hand, serving His purposes as Paul points out in his Romans letter. And as Peter puts it, He isn’t willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.
Today we aren’t alone with the Lord on the earth. This is the Day of His gathering. What a glorious Day it is, and also a terrible one. Glorious for the righteous, but terrible for the wicked. The Lord has come as prophesied by Enoch (Jude) to judge the world.
We looked at Leif’s website (https://globalmissionawareness.com/) and watched a video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSSa-B9dAkE). He is another prophet of Ashtoreth (False Love – Satan’s Last Stronghold), coming in the Name of the Lord by transforming himself into a minister of righteousness. Did you notice how there’s almost nothing mentioned about sin and repentance? Mustn’t men know they are sinners and learn that they have opposed Him and are responsible for taking His life? Shall the Lord brush everything important aside and bring men into the Kingdom by simply making them feel good?
The Cross – Only the Death Sentence Will Avail
Paul
As we go to post Leif Hetland a year later, I have a couple things to add.
In his letter, Robert says of Leif: “These guys are going the way of Rome, and professes to be a ‘fathers’ who NEED to be obeyed and followed.“
There’s nothing wrong with spiritual fathers who “NEED” to be obeyed or followed. On the contrary, it’s a good and necessary thing to have and follow such leaders:
“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you” (Hebrews 13:17 KJV).
“For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the Gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be you followers of me” (1 Corinthians 4:15-16 KJV).
Paul didn’t ask to be called, “Father” or “Rabbi,” but he also didn’t throw the baby out with the baby water by dismissing his God-given role or the need for guidance through spiritual fathers simply because God is the Father of all.
Are we not enjoined to honor our earthly fathers and mothers according to the Fifth Commandment? So how much more spiritual fathers in Christ, that we might live?
The problem with Leif and religious works like the Catholic Church is that they aren’t in Christ, and therefore they aren’t spiritual fathers to God’s children. They are fathers to religious proselytes, twofold children of hell whom they’ve led into confusion and destruction.
For example, Leif has authored a manual presumably teaching you how to soak in God’s presence. But it costs $15 to find out. Consider for yourself: Do fathers sell their children manuals on how to live?
The only soaking taking place with this manual is that of your pocketbook and soul. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10 ESV).
Leif has another book for sale – Loving Muslims on Purpose. He believes the “transformational love” he practices can win Muslims to Christ and solicits financial support for his outreach program in Pakistan. The nature of this endeavor reminds me of “Grizzly Man,” the fellow who lived in the Alaskan bush mingling with grizzly bears, thinking they were his friends because he loved them so much. It worked for a while, till one ate him.
A bear is a bear and a Muslim is the offspring of Muhammad – an unregenerate murderer, liar, and blasphemer. Yes, Muslims can be converted to Christ, but not by False Love – Satan’s Last Stronghold. That’s a christ who comes as an angel of light.
In the Light of the True Lord Jesus Christ, false Christs and their preachers are exposed. For more on this, read:
