False Teacher – Joseph Prince

Joseph Prince of This World

Hear and see how this strutting rooster strips you of your money and the Gospel of its power.

Joseph Prince is a prince and representative in particular of Baal, the pagan hero god of old mentioned in the Law and Prophets of Scripture.

Baal is the prince of the princes of this world, which world lies in wickedness and opposes its Creator. He is the star, the hero, the savior, the idol, and the lord of those who love appearances and the glory of the flesh.

Baal is the anti-Christ of history, having come in many names, beginning with Nimrod, seeking men’s allegiance and demanding their worship. Nimrod was known as a “mighty hunter before the Lord” (Genesis 10:9). He led souls away from God, until Shem defeated him by the power of the spoken Word of God.

Baal is a pagan god the children of Israel fell to worshipping, among others, for which their nation was destroyed and scattered to the ends of the earth. Baal is powerfully, predominantly present today in nominal Christendom, continuing to mesmerize and rule over many millions, substituting himself for Jesus Christ, yet claiming to serve Him faithfully.

Baal is the glorious example of the flesh. He is handsome, happy, charismatic, and successful, as worldly success goes. He is a movie star in the spotlight with his name in lights. He is rich! He has “God’s abundant blessing” in religion, no less than do stars of Hollywood, sports heroes, and all prospering, famous government, military, corporate, and financial personalities in their fields.

“Joseph Prince” is not this man’s birth name. Why does one choose a name like “Prince”? Why not a more humble “Pauper” or “Peasant,” or even a neutral “Commoner”? Why “King” or “Prince” or names that are highly esteemed among men? A king or prince of what or whom or where or how or why? (Important questions.)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,” Jesus says. Men say, “Nay, but blessed are the rich in spirit and pocket, and we want to be among them!”

David says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise” (Psalms 51:17 MKJV).

Ask yourselves, “Are we talking about a broken spirit and a contrite heart? Is that the image portrayed?” No, Joseph Prince is just another egotistic charlatan who preaches prosperity, for his own prosperity. He wants your profits and knows how to get them, so he might be profited.

On his site, Joseph lavishly displays impressive snapshots and videos of himself and his heroic preaching. Speak of anti-Christ! (“Anti-” meaning “instead of,” not “against.”) A handsome man, well-dressed and well-heeled, with open-neck shirt and shaggy hair to fashionably impress the ladies and every impressionable male or female simpleton out there that looks on the appearance.

Splashed on center stage at The Joseph Prince Ministries homepage are not just one, but several, bold bids for your money – “Support the Ministry,” “Donate,” “Request a Resource” (for a fee), “Go to Store,” “Become a Partner” (with your money, of course), and “Watch This Week’s Broadcast” with more suggestions to send money. Mammon reigns. The site is a giant fine-holed net, cast out, fishing for your lives. “God wants you to reign,” Prince shouts to his audience, as he mesmerizes them, and reigns over them by the god of mammon.

If these words can be applied to anyone, they can be applied to Joseph Prince:

“Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the Temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:4 MKJV).

Proud and worldly man! Where the humility? Where the poverty of spirit? Where the meekness? Where the godliness? Where the sobriety and piety? Where the love and sacrifice? Perhaps he calls his ways, “the boldness of the Lord” and his worldly friendliness, “love”?

This is a devil in all his pomp and glory, and the children of the world love to have it so. Are you surprised, people? So you think this is not a devil? You think this is a man of God? Tell us how; show us where in the Scriptures one finds any true prophet, apostle, evangelist, pastor, elder, teacher, bishop, deacon, or saint presenting himself as does this man. And how do devils present themselves? Think about it. Is it not in modes of deception, posing as righteous, even in the Lord’s Name?

In Joseph Prince, people see what they want to become. He takes their money, decorates and enriches himself, promises them the blessing of God if they pay, and calls for more, and they gladly give what they have so that they can be as he, rich in this world’s goods.

Does this man preach prosperity? You better believe it. There are those who may deny it, but his whole site preaches prosperity, in both spirit and letter, and reeks with the message that gain is godliness and godliness is gain. Mammon is held forth as God.

Oh, what a diabolical fellow this is – flattering, impressing, exciting, titillating, raping, pillaging, robbing, stealing, lying, deceiving, and destroying as he goes in the most comely manner to men, filling fools with vain hopes! He is a great and active cloud, but an empty one, full of deception and false promise; an empty well promising much water; a spiritual sewage pipe passing for a water fountain.

But of Jesus it is written:

“For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground; He has no form nor majesty that we should see Him, nor an appearance that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not” (Isaiah 53:2-3 MKJV).

So the charlatans justify themselves before men, retorting, “Ah, but didn’t Jesus die and pay the price for us, so that we could have abundant life? Didn’t He make Himself poor, so that we could be rich?”

They quote the next few verses to prove their point:

Isaiah 53:4-6 MKJV
(4) Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
(5) But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.
(6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

And they quote:

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, for your sakes He became poor, in order that you might be made rich through His poverty” (2 Corinthians 8:9 MKJV).

Mammon lovers and religious merchandisers interpret “rich” as being rich in this world’s goods, and they promise this to all who believe, not only a few. But tell me, you great promisers of earthly wealth, how rich did the apostles, forerunners of the faithful, become in terms of this world’s goods? Peter said that he and his fellow disciples forsook all. Jesus told the rich young ruler to surrender his god (the very same god Joseph Prince worships and promotes), so that he would have treasure in Heaven:

“Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me” (Matthew 19:21 MKJV).

How rich was John the Baptist, raised in the wilderness, dressed in camel’s hair and leather, feeding on carob and honey?

At least the rich young ruler went away sad, but Joseph Prince has no sadness, humility, or doubts about his course – or does he? We shall see. Only by God’s grace can he see the Light. He doesn’t see now, though he thinks he has it all together as few ever did. But Lord willing, one day he will see the Light and abhor himself; he will grieve at his ways before the Lord. At present, he revels in his vainglory and proudly justifies himself. Doesn’t he know what he’s doing?

Luke 16:13-15 MKJV
(13) No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
(14) And being money-lovers, all the Pharisees also heard all these things. And they derided Him.
(15) And He said to them, You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Surely, is Joseph’s site not designed to glorify him? Look at his glory, people! Think of all those you know – your neighbors, friends, relatives, the poor of this world, the handicapped, the simple, parading themselves as he does, his name in lights. Can you imagine them all “reigning” in financial prosperity, as the prince of this world promises? Stop and consider! This isn’t godliness – this is devilry at its worst! This is the deceptive, seductive beauty of Satan captivating, stealing, lying, and destroying.

Yes, he “preaches Jesus Christ,” and professes to be saving the world, but he preaches “another Jesus,” by “another gospel,” of which Paul the apostle warned. This is an angel of light, skilled in speech:

2 Corinthians 11:6-15 MKJV
(6) But even if I am unskilled in speech, yet not in knowledge; but in every way I have been clearly revealed to you in all things.

This is a messenger and servant of Satan, preying on the gullible, charging them for his preaching and “ministry,” saying, “I want to bless you with this or that offer for so much and so much (but bless me with more).” Is this the way of God? Consider His Word:

(7) Or did I commit sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you without charge?
(8) I stripped other churches, taking wages for the serving of you.
(9) And being present with you, and in need, I was not a burden to anyone. For the brothers from Macedonia made up completely my need. And in every way I have kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will keep myself.
(10) The truth of Christ is in me that this boasting shall not be silenced in me in the regions of Achaia.
(11) Why? Because I do not love you? God knows.
(12) But what I do, that I will do, so that I may cut off occasion from those who desire occasion; so that in the thing in which they boast, they may be found even as we.

Prince’s way is not the way of God, putting himself in lights, billing himself as “The Joseph Prince Ministries” (as do all pretenders to the heavenly throne). This is the way of the prince of this world:

(13) For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
(14) Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light?
(15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

Now consider this:

Prince has four enticing categories of “partners” to bestow on those sharing their wealth with him. Least of all is the fourth class, “Destined to Reign Partner,” for a monthly “gift” of $10 or more, or a one-time gift of $200. For this gift, one receives a personalized blue membership card.

Then there is the “Grace and Favor Partner.” As this third class partner, one must “give” $50 a month or more, or a one-time gift of $500. Instead of just a blue personalized partner’s card, you get a purple one! I wonder why purple is so much better, or is it simply to distinguish? We shall see.

I wonder…doesn’t the “Destined to Reign Partner” have God’s “grace and favor,” or will he or she have to cough up and financially upgrade themselves eventually to this category, or go without grace and favor? (What mischievous devil dreamed up these category titles based on financial contribution, anyway?)

To be a second class partner with Mr. Prince, you can go for the “Gospel Revolution Partner” opportunity. Send in $200 or more a month, or a one-time gift of $2,000, and now you are a veritable angel on God’s behalf (it’s all in the wallet, people). And guess what? You’ll have a gold card, not just a cheapie blue, or semi-cheapie purple one!

However, if you’re poor, like perhaps Peter, Andrew, James, and John, who were ignorant fishermen, or John the Immerser, who came from the wilderness with camel’s hair and leather girdle, or Paul the apostle, who forsook all to minister unto the Lord, you’ll just have to forego being a “Gospel Revolution Partner.” No Gospel glory or gold card for you!

Finally, if you wish to “fulfill your destiny,” you must up your “gift” from $200 a month or more (notice the consistent “or more”), to a monthly gift of $500 or more, or send your Prince a one-time “gift” of $5,000. Simple enough. Not enough money, no inside relationship with Mr. Prince. Isn’t that just like Jesus, Who laid down His life, paying in blood for the poorest, without expecting a financial contribution?

Seeing it isn’t enough to be “destined to reign,” or have “grace and favor,” or even to be a “Gospel Revolution Partner,” what you must do, if you don’t have enough money saved or coming in, is go to the bank and take out a loan, or pull out your credit card, or sell your car and send JP the required amount. Rob your grandmother, if you must. After all, great will be your reward in Heaven!

You will not only have “grace and favor” or be a “Gospel Revolution Partner,” or be merely “destined to reign,” YOU WILL REIGN! Why? Because now you will be a partner in “Joseph’s Inner Circle”!!

Something like Peter, James, and John were with Jesus. (I wonder where they came up with the equivalent of $5,000. Did they sell their father’s fishing boats and nets?) And when you reign, nothing will be impossible to you. You might even be able (though I’m not sure how willing) to pay back your grandmother with the winnings Joseph Prince of this world bestows on you with his “gospel strategies.”

And glory of glories! You will have not a blue, purple, or gold card – no, no, those will never do for your financial faithfulness to this fraud – you will have a Platinum ELITE card, along with special personalized gifts and – wow…get this – “periodic gifts of specially selected items from Joseph’s range of resources!!”

This is the same spirit of exploitation demonstrated by the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages in the selling of indulgences (though the practice has disappeared, the exploitation hasn’t). Yet many who fall for this new and improved version look down their noses at those who committed and fell for the old swindle, as if they are so far advanced spiritually. What hypocrisy and blindness!

I am amazed at the gullible people who fall for these devilish schemes and tactics in the Name of the Lord, but these guys can show you how many fools are born in the world by their $10,000 suits, multimillion-dollar mansions, private jets, and luxury yachts. Oh yes, they really do show you how “God wants to prosper you.” Through them, their god shows you how to prosper them by you, and they show you how he has done it! As they used to say in the hype world of Amway, another sucker scene, wherein they promised riches and delivered poverty, “Ain’t it great?” (They likely still say this.)

Do you think those gifts from Joseph’s “range of resources” match up to the gifts you give him? Do you seriously think he spends your money on preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Is this not the gospel of Satan?

Do you really think you should be honored according to your wealth or financial contribution? What does James say?

James 2:1-7 MKJV
(1) My brothers, do not have the faith of our Lord Christ, the Lord of glory, with respecter of faces.
(2) For if there comes a gold-fingered man in fancy clothing into your assembly, and if there also comes in a poor man in shabby clothing,
(3) and if you have respect to him who has the fancy clothing and say to him, You sit here in a good place, and say to the poor, You stand there, or sit here under my footstool;
(4) Did you not make a difference among yourselves and became judges with evil thoughts?
(5) Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?
(6) But you dishonored the poor one. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats?
(7) Do they not blaspheme that worthy Name by which you are called?

Let’s see what the TRUE Lord Jesus has to say about contributions to God:

Mark 12:42-44 KJV
(42) And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
(43) And He called unto Him His disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
(44) For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

I wonder in what category our magnanimous, friendly, and famous princely fraud would place the widow with her contribution of two mites. Would she make it to “Joseph’s Inner Circle”? Not likely. The platinum ELITE card alone costs more than two mites, never mind the rest of Joseph’s “precious gifts.”

Would she make the “Gospel Revolution Partner” status? Not in her dreams.

Perhaps she might make a “Grace and Favor Partner” in Joe’s books? Seems like that still takes a bit more than a penny or two, doesn’t it!

This poor lady couldn’t even make the status of “Destined to Reign Partner.” She didn’t have 10 bucks to pay for the first month!

Tell me, anyone, how much were two mites of value in this widow’s day? Ten dollars? How about five? No? Perhaps a dollar? Hardly anyone would think so. It seems that most would peg the value of two mites at much less than a dollar, or even less than a dime. So, sorry, poor widow lady, you can’t even make it into the fellowship on earth with the “least of these, My brethren.” Not with Joseph Prince, that is; no, not with someone so prosperous, so important, handsome, famous, pious, devoted, and good as Joseph Prince of this world.

Yet is it not a wonder that for two mites, this widow has been commended to countless millions by the Lord Himself, the Prince of peace? Think about it! She has been preaching Him to the billions in the past two millennia by her two mites! What an investment return that is! The very best I’ve heard of!

This husbandless soul’s name was written in pure gold and posted for the entire world to witness. She may not have made the Prince of this world’s Hall of Fame, or even gotten a blue membership card, but she made it to Heaven’s highest glory. She may not have found herself worthy to enter Prince’s “Inner Circle,” but she certainly made it into the grace and favor and inner circle of the One Joseph professes to worship and to serve, none other than the Lord of all creation! And how did she do it? She did it not with $5,000 or more, or even with $10. She did it with far less – two measly mites!

But it was all! How marvelous, just, and true are the Lord’s scales of measure! How corrupt are the measures and standards of men who lust after power and control! How corrupt are those who follow and support them in their evil example!

“For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15 MKJV).

Ugh! I find it difficult to believe people are sooooo gullible with pretentious, pompous, thieving, deceiving vagabonds like Joseph Prince. I find it even more difficult to believe they will condemn us for exposing and denouncing this arrogant scoundrel, but they will!

What does the counsel of God say to those who desire the truth? Here it is:

Isaiah 55:1-9 MKJV
(1) Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
(2) Why do you weigh silver for what is not bread? and your labor for what never satisfies? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
(3) Bow down your ear, and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
(4) Behold, I have given Him for a witness to the people, a Leader and Commander of peoples.
(5) Behold, You shall call a nation that You do not know; a nation that did not know You shall run to You because of the LORD Your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified You.
(6) Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.
(7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
(8) For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways, says the LORD.
(9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

To His disciples, the Lord gave clear command:

“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received freely, freely give. Do not provide gold nor silver, nor copper in your purses, nor a bag for the journey, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staves. For the workman is worthy of his food” (Matthew 10:8-10 MKJV).

Imagine the apostles putting on fundraising drives:

For a gift of 500 mites, you’ll be an Ambitious Ambassador, and you’ll receive a written apostolic commendation you can frame and show your friends!

For 2,000 mites, you’ll be a Pious Prayer Partner! One of the apostles will lay hands on you and pray a blessing you’re sure to receive, and you’ll get to eat a free economy lunch at Caesar’s Palace with the saints!

For 5,000 mites, you’ll become a Sweet Soul Saver. Peter will shake your hand in the public city square of Jerusalem and you’ll receive a small personalized leather purse to carry your leftover change!

For 10,000 mites, get this: You’ll be in the Prince Preacher Party and get your own personalized polished olivewood walking staff, autographed by all the apostles!

People, all kidding aside, of such as this scoundrel, whom we expose and denounce in satire, yet in truth, the apostle Paul said:

“For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also men shall arise from your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to draw disciples away after them. Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears” (Acts 20:29-31 MKJV).

No doubt, we are perceived as those grievous wolves, while we teach and magnify and establish the Law of God, preaching against sin, and calling for repentance from self to God. No doubt, Prince’s “gospel of grace” is what people want to hear, however. It lets them entirely off the hook, doesn’t it?

“Well,” Prince’s fans (fanatics) argue, “isn’t that what Jesus came to do, to let us off the hook, to take our place by suffering all the evil we deserve, taking upon Himself all the bad He didn’t deserve so as to give us all the good we don’t deserve?”

Sounds good, doesn’t it? There’s certainly truth there, and that’s what makes this devilish gospel sound Scripturally convincing. Jesus did pay for our sins – all of them. We can’t earn our way into God’s favor. His death has purchased our redemption. But the True Gospel calls for repentance, for our taking up the cross:

Matthew 16:24-26 MKJV
(24) Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
(25) For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, and whoever desires to lose his life for My sake shall find it.
(26) For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

You don’t hear anything like that from Prince, do you! The Lord Jesus calls on us to forsake all that is near and dear, to put away all other gods, which only God’s grace enables us to do. It calls for obedience to the Lord, which is the fruit of true faith:

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him” (John 14:21 MKJV).

But Prince will have none of this “hard, legalistic, religious, self-righteous, ignorant Law stuff,” because people aren’t attracted to it. They want to have their cake and eat it, too. They have itching ears and Prince gives them what they want. With the Lord, we say to such:

“But He turned and said to Peter, Go, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you do not savor the things that are of God, but those that are of men” (Matthew 16:23 MKJV).

Those who believe Prince will never hear the Lord’s voice. Jesus Christ will reveal Himself to none of them. He and the Father will not make Their abode in them. Little do Prince’s victims realize they sell their souls to his father the Devil, while he gets to have his cake and eat it, too, but for a very limited time, as with a tiny wisp of smoke in the wind.

Turn to the Lord and repent of your sins, people, you who would have life, you who would be truly free. Hear the TRUE Lord Jesus Christ speak. Identify with Him the one and only way man can, through the personal death of the cross, the very cross Prince contemns and erroneously tells you isn’t at all necessary for you. Flee for your lives from this “other Jesus” whom Joseph Prince preaches. Here is what Jesus Christ speaks of you who admire the rich and would be rich yourselves in this world:

“Because you say, I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I counsel you to buy from Me gold purified by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be clothed, and so that the shame of your nakedness does not appear. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent” (Revelation 3:17-19 MKJV).

Ask yourselves, “Does Joseph Prince rebuke and chasten?” How much success and popularity would he have that way? No, this fellow brings you into his imaginary banquet hall, leads you past the appetizers and the main course, going straight to all the dessert you can eat. This false teacher, along with so many others, takes you from personal responsibility, to presumptuous redemption; from life-transforming grace, to iniquity called “grace”; from love of God, to love of self in the Name of God. What an attractive, exhilarating ride he takes you on!

Forsake all so you may be truly rich, instead of pursuing the riches of this world that Prince tells you God wants you to have, by making him rich and yourselves poor. With the Prince of this world, you make yourselves poor in two ways: You give your earthly goods to a lying thief, and you are spiritually impoverished in God’s sight by following devils. You lose both on earth and in Heaven.

Let your glory be with God and not before men. Make yourself poor God’s way – deny yourself, take up your cross, sell all that you have, and you will have treasure in Heaven. This is “piety time,” not “party time.” Follow not the pleasing Prince of this world, by whom you lose your souls ever so pleasantly. Follow the Prince of peace, the Lord of Heaven and earth, Jesus Christ, Who calls you to deny yourself and take up your cross, and you will possess all things!

Mark 10:28-31 MKJV
(28) Then Peter began to say to Him, Lo, we have left all and have followed You.
(29) And Jesus answered and said, Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My sake and the Gospel’s sake,
(30) but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come, eternal life.
(31) But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints, for His sake and yours,

“Don’t Let Money Make You Mad”

A reader criticizes our posting of Joseph Prince, presuming we’re envious of his financial success as a false gospel entertainer. By the grace of God, being as Joseph Prince is the last thing any of His saints would ever want, even if they should “gain the whole world.” But the writer, being a child of darkness, reflects her own preoccupation with mammon and finds reason to condemn us for rejecting her god.

The Suffering of the Saints

A false gospel has overtaken the earth like cancer, teaching people that God wouldn’t have them suffer in any way, but would see to it that they are rich in the physical things and comforts of this world. These are “men whose minds have been corrupted and deprived of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness.” The apostle says, “Withdraw from such” (1 Timothy 6:5 MKJV). Come and hear the true and profitable way of Christ.
