The Disciple of a False Prophet Is One, Too
A chicken hatches chickens. A cow gives birth to a cow. A false prophet produces other false prophets, and the Son of God creates sons of God.
We are asked:
What about Carlos Sarmiento?? He was Benny Hinn’s youth pastor for 9 yrs and is now evangelizing on his own and is claiming to have had a heavenly encounter with Jesus and God having a conversation. Let me know if I’m wrong about him.
Thanks,
Lisa
Our reply:
Lisa, if the tree is corrupt, so is its fruit.
“Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit” (Matthew 7:17-18 MKJV).
Carlos Sarmiento is the fruit of Benny Hinn, a corrupt tree having nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ. Only Christ can produce good fruit through His servants.
“I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 MKJV).
I listened to some of this interview with Sarmiento: TBN Praise the Lord with Carlos Sarmiento. In it he talks about his supposed heavenly encounter with “Jesus and God,” being privy to a conversation between them about the “end times.” However, Jesus Christ Is God, not a separate being. Yes, He came in a body and lived among us, but He is the LORD from Heaven. Read the writings at Jesus Christ Is God, in particular Who Do Men Say that I Am?, and see that the Scriptures teach there aren’t two Gods in Heaven conversing with one another. There is only one God. Sarmiento hasn’t heard from Him. So who is he hearing from?
Also read the writings we suggest in the False Teachers introduction for help in knowing the True God and Lord Jesus Christ. When you know Him, then you will recognize the false ones posing as His teachers. Browse the Teachings and Diabolical Doctrines and read The True Marks of a Cult.

Addendum:
It’s possible for one steeped in false religion to be turned to the Lord. If it wasn’t possible, which of us who have been lost and deceived (and we all have been) could be found by the Lord and restored?
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27 KJV)
But when a person is turned from their manmade religion and self-righteous ways to the Lord, such as happened to Saul of Tarsus, there will be a vivid demarcation between old and new. We don’t see that with Carlos Sarmiento, not in the least. It’s bamboozling, boisterous Benny-business as usual.
For example, Carlos recently appeared on Sid Roth‘s program, It’s Supernatural, promoting himself through his encounter with the false gods posing as “Jesus and the Father.”
While listening to the conversation between these two entities, Carlos reports, “They talked about the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit that the church was yet to experience, and that the earth would encounter through the cooperation and partnership of the Holy Spirit with the Church.”
Isn’t it always this way with false prophets – giving you sensational, titillating reports of wonderful things about to happen? And of course, with such great things in store, you are motivated to buy their books and CDs to make sure you’re prepared. (For a gift to Sid of $45 – or more – you can get Carlos’ books and 5-CD set, Encountered by God and That We May Work the Works of God.)
One of the last things Carlos heard was “the Father” saying to “Jesus,” “It’s time Son; go get your bride.”
That should put your excitement level over the top, ensuring you’ll be calling Slick Sid with your credit card handy.
And if the “Holy Spirit” is coming to cooperate and partner with the Church, why isn’t he involved in the conversation with “the Father and Jesus”? After all, he is an integral part of the scenario Carlos proposes.
You can have something much better and greater than anything Carlos talks about, because you can have the truth that makes free in Christ, which Carlos doesn’t have. God is here now, and we’re speaking these things by Him, “that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you might have life in His Name” (John 20:31 MKJV). Amen.
