Christmas and Human Weakness
Victor writes this letter to the believers:
Hi all!
I want you to know that while some make Christmas an issue, it
being the season, we need to have it from the Lord to know what
to say, to whom and what, but let's not get in bondage about it.
When it comes right down to it, Christmas is not the issue. Before
I became a Christian, celebrating or not celebrating Christmas would
have meant nothing to me. But when I received the Spirit, things
began to change in all areas, one thing at a time, sometimes several
things, and Christmas took its turn.
You see, it's primarily about a relationship with the Lord Jesus,
He living His life in and through us. And He doesn't condemn or
criticize anyone for darkness or ignorance (did He condemn you?).
Having revealed Himself to us, He lives His life by us and brings
whom He will to the Light in His time. Patience!
I talked to some of you as to what to respond to others when they
wish you a "Merry Christmas." Our community fire chief
has created the tradition (perhaps it is not a new idea by any means)
of heading door to door with his wife in the fire truck. (I think
that is rather clever - no sleigh, but a fire truck, and red like
a Santa sleigh, well, maybe yellow, not sure; and instead of Rudolph's
red nose, headlights, and instead of bells, a siren). They dress
in Santa suits and hand out candy canes, one for each member of
the house. Last night I heard the touch of the siren, and Wendy
Hilliard came to the door and handed me three canes (which, Christmas
or no Christmas, we don't normally eat). I accepted them. She said, "Happy
holidays to you and yours," smiled, and was off to the next
house. I smiled back, rather hesitantly, I might add, and said, "Thank
you."
Wendy is our neighbor; her husband is a volunteer fireman for us,
doing the community a service, and they are regular strawberry customers
of Harvest Haven. With these kinds of connections, it makes it harder
to take a stand on some issues...if indeed a stand ought to be taken.
Sometimes, hopefully not for selfish or earthly benefit, we need
to recognize that we can just let some things go. We needn't strive
or differ at all times, in all cases.
Was I wrong to thank her and accept the canes? Maybe and maybe
not; the Lord will tell. I'd be glad to talk to her and her husband
about any of these things should the Lord open the door to do so,
not in legalistic posturing and mild contempt, but in kindness and
friendship. And if the Lord doesn't provide the circumstances, not
a problem. Leave it; it's okay.
Terri, I advised you to go to your family gathering and not worry
about it. How did you do? Or is it today?
James, I advised you to go to yours and take it as an opportunity
to just be there and share; maybe ask some questions, not in strife
or antagonism, but just to make people think about themselves, their
lot in life, you, and what they are doing there having a gathering
when not willing to talk about the things that are significant to
you, whom they insist to get together with and presume to care about.
Eric, I heard that Laurie was upset because she had to prepare
the kids herself to go to church for whatever occasion they were
having there, likely to do with Christmas. I only got these things
secondhand, so don't quote me. Be that as it may, consider that
you can help her dress and feed the kids; help send her off to church
with them to do what she intends. When they all know that you clearly
disagree, and though you do not go yourself and partake, yet if
you help them with concern and kindness, I think that will speak
volumes more than to hold them in any kind of contempt - mild, subtle,
or otherwise. Yes, the Lord has called us to war, yet by peaceful
and heavenly means, not by carnal attitudes and measures.
Care about them more than you care about not celebrating Christmas
or about not going to Babylonian worship. Do you understand, people?
Do you hear me? Yes, Paul and I preach against Christmas and false
religion, we speak against many evils and "reprove the works
of darkness" (as did the Lord and the prophets and apostles),
but there are many ways to do so, and times and persons in different
stations of life in the mix, each calling for a different stroke.
Love them wherever and whenever possible.
By "love", I don't mean the mush or sentimentality or
platitudes, though there are times for sympathy and compassion,
for hugs, and an understanding pat on the hand or shoulder, by all
means. But don't presume to change them. That is the Lord's job;
only He can do it, and if He isn't doing anything at the time, your
efforts will only be counterproductive and vexing to them, to the
Lord, and to yourselves. Been there, done it, much and many times
- bought the t-shirt, burned it.... Do you "hear" me?
I would like for you to understand these things sooner than I did,
yet it is still all in His time(s).
I too am weak, as you; Paul is weak; we are all weak. Let's not
fool ourselves; we are no better than anyone when it comes down
to it. We fail, we stumble, we err, we must all learn; we must all
be chastened by the Lord. He loves us and has been very patient
with us, has He not? But He also loves those with whom we have to
do.
Remember, He also died for them and is every bit as desirous and
able to bring them into His fold as He has been and done with you.
Be patient, be kind, be understanding, be gentle with them all.
Do stand firm in your convictions, make clear what the Lord has
shown you - I'm not calling for compromise - I'm calling for something
much better, for the sake of all.
You may have some difficulty understanding how it is I can say
these things when you see our preaching; it seems we are the opposite.
Are we? Maybe we are; I hope not. I want you to know that in
Christ, we care for all those people out there, every last
one of them...Augie, Peter, Laurie, Dilene, all the children, pastors,
priests, strangers, antagonists, name them all - Christ died for
them all, and one day, they will all be standing beside us, rejoicing,
singing praises to God, with tears and happy faces, thankful that
He cared so much that He should suffer a cruel death for them, and
thankful for all things.
I have an only son in the flesh, whom I love. He does things I
don't agree with in the final sense. But I believe
the Lord has given me the wisdom to let him go and experience the
things he must for the time. He does not keep the Sabbath as do
we, he does a variety of things we know better than to do, yet I
know the Lord was sovereign in my life when I was in unbelief, and
He didn't draw me to Himself until I was 27, 9 years older than
Jonathan is now. God could have done it sooner, but He didn't. I
can wish He had, given the terrible things that happened, but so
it was, for His purposes and for the right time, which serves to
humble me to this very hour. So who am I to think I can (or should)
change people any time I please? I can't, and neither can anyone
else. He has His timing and way.
Let's give thanks in all these things -that's very important -
rejoice in the Lord and give Him thanks for everything, the "good" and
the "bad" both - the trials, the challenges, the roadblocks,
the defeats, as well as the victories. Father, thank You for these
to whom You have granted grace and revealed Yourself. Thank You
for their weaknesses and strengths, all of which serve Your purpose.
Thank You for them and everything. Amen!

“Why don’t you celebrate Christmas?”
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I believe in Jesus Christ
and cannot but be faithful to Him.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it opposes Jesus Christ
in spirit and practice.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is the birthdate of
the antiChrist, the great imposter, the false Messiah.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because the world loves it, and
anything the world loves, God hates.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it fulfills both the
lusts of the flesh and of the spirit, which are at enmity with God.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it brings God’s
wrath on all its celebrants.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I want to live and not
die.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I want Jesus Christ to
be glorified.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because gifts are to be for Jesus
Christ and not for each other with His exclusion.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God hates mixture.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is deceptive and destructive.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because Santa Claus, tinsel,
tree ornaments, cards, mistletoe, hoping to receive earthly gifts,
merchandising in Christ’s Name, Christmas food, revelry, gluttony,
and drunkenness are ungodly and deadly.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is confusion.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is a captive spirit
that promises fulfillment when it comes, and leaves one empty and
disillusioned when it goes.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it has nothing whatsoever
to do with the birth of Christ in any way; it only claims to.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God never asked anyone
to do so.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because harlot religion and the
world does.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it represents Satan’s
chosen man.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God’s people do
not do so.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it shames and discourages
the lonely and destitute and glorifies the wealthy.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it insults and grieves
God.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it offers an occasion
for those who do not obey Jesus Christ to pretend that they do.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it gives the pagan originators
of the celebration an occasion to make the whole world stumble.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I have known its beautiful,
rapturous bondage, and now I know the freedom of deliverance from
it, with peace and understanding.
I don’t celebrate Christ’s physical birth without because
I have His spiritual birth within.
How wonderful it is that one may celebrate the birth of the Son
of God 24/7, in spirit and in truth! Each and every day, those born
of Him possess that which no mortal celebrating the best Christmas
day can even imagine!
A couple things you could read on this subject: That
Devilish Spirit of Christmas and Diabolical Doctrine 17) “Christmas
is a holy, God-ordained celebration.”

God’s Promise in His Commandments
I had what I could call precious thoughts last Sabbath as I was
running a hose to the barrel and turning the raw water valve on.
I thought, “Should I, or shouldn’t I, be doing this
today?” (The barrel was low and tends to dry out and leak
if not filled, but it could have waited till the next day.) But
then I thought, “No, this is nothing to me; in fact, I am
enjoying it on this beautiful, peaceful morning. And I don’t have
to do it! It is not servile in that I am forced or
find displeasure in it. And I am free to do it.”
So I got thinking about the Sabbath again and suddenly realized
that almost all of the commandments are not, “I’m telling
you what to do, and you better do it!” but, “I’m
telling you what shall be. This is what I am doing with you; here’s
where I’m going with all this - You shall love
the Lord your God. You shall not have other gods.
You will not be killing or committing adultery
or stealing. This is what I’m doing with you, and this is
where you are going and will be.” The Law of God is the “blueprint” or “manifesto,” if
you will.
So then, what about the Sabbath? It says not, “You shall...,” but, “Remember
that you keep....” Why? Because the purpose of our Creator
is to bring us to that fulfillment where, by nature, we want to
do the right thing, and we do it, like breathing, as natural as
blood coursing through our veins. And that is the rest; that is
the Sabbath, and we will remember, and not forget. It is a promise,
as are all the commandments.
Commandments! Aren’t those things we are told to do? Yes,
but when God says, “Let there be light,” there is light.
So when He says, “You shall not steal,” then it will
come to pass that you shall not steal, because He has commanded
it. He does not command you so much as that He commands the thing
itself to come to pass! Isn’t that wonderful? He will do it
and is doing it and has done it! I don’t know what to say
about the one other commandment (which has no, “You shall
or shall not”) that says, “Honor your father and your
mother,” except that it is one with promise, and in fact,
it is the only one with an explicit promise built right in.
Now see why we can’t win favor with God by keeping the commandments,
or why we can’t even keep them? If they are promises, then
whose promises are they? If His and not ours, then how can, or even
how should, we keep them, when we are not the ones who made them?
If He made the promises, then they are up to Him to keep. And why
would He make such promises if we already had what He was promising,
the keeping of the commandments? But He promises to give or to fulfill
that which we do not have, but which is needful, in order that we
may have fellowship with Him.
Because God’s commandments are promises, it doesn’t
mean we don’t have to try to comply with them. It only means
we can’t pretend to fulfill His commandments in our own power,
which is to deny His promise, His blood, His Person, and Reality.
We are subject to the tutelage of the Law, because we agree with
His verdicts and ways, until the time is fulfilled. We know that
as we behold His face in righteousness, we will be satisfied when
we awake with His likeness.
And when He keeps His Promises, it is the fulfillment of His words:
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit
within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26 MKJV).
(“I will keep My promises to you, all Ten of them, and then
you will have the reality of the Fourth!”)
When the Sabbath is finally fulfilled in us, nothing will be servile
to us any longer, for that would be an impossibility. We will no
longer do our own pleasure, for we will be entirely His, desiring
to do only His pleasure. We will have overcome to be one with Him.
That is the Sabbath and the rest of God, which the Hebrews writer
exhorted, indeed admonished, us to enter into:
Hebrews 4:1-11 MKJV
(1) Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest
any of you should seem to come short of it.
(2) For also we have had the gospel preached, as well as them. But the Word
preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard
it.
(3) For we who have believed do enter into the rest, as He said, "I have
sworn in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest"; although the
works were finished from the foundation of the world.
(4) For He spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: "And
God rested the seventh day from all His works."
(5) And in this place again, "They shall not enter into My rest."
(6) Since then it remains that some must enter into it, and since they to whom
it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief,
(7) He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, "Today," (after
so long a time). Even as it is said, "Today, if you will hear His voice,
harden not your hearts."
(8) For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken
of another day.
(9) So then there remains a rest to the people of God.
(10) For he who has entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his own
works, as God did from His.
(11) Therefore let us labor to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after
the same example of unbelief.

The Ox in the Pit on the Sabbath
"And He answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an
ass or an ox fall into a pit and will not immediately pull him out
on the Sabbath day?" (Luke 14:5 MKJV)
Question: If God reigns supreme over all things,
and is Lord of the Sabbath, and if He would have man to rest on
the Sabbath, why does He permit an ox to fall in a pit on that day
and require someone to rescue it?
Answer:
He demonstrates that He is not expecting a legalistic reaction
from us.
He teaches us that the Sabbath is not to rule and bind us, but
is made for us.
He teaches us that we can choose to do the right thing on the Sabbath,
as at any time.
He tries us to see if we will do the right thing and put aside
our needs (in this case the need of rest) for the sake of a creature
in need of help.
He demonstrates principles of worship and service and mercy.
He gives us lessons in priorities.
If an ox is so unfortunate as to not have rest on the Sabbath,
and we are commanded that our ox rest with us, how then may we leave
it in its trouble and rest at the same time?
That is why He will send an ox to the pit on the Sabbath.

A Demonstration of God’s Protection of Israel
Watch: Miracles
in Gaza
The LORD honored the curse,
and answered our prayers
for the Israelis in the Gaza battle.
Only those familiar with warfare can sufficiently appreciate the
fact of miraculously low casualties with the Israelis in this particular
war. Normally, an operation like that could cost half the men going
in. Instead, they likely had about 1% of the expected or the norm
of those invading a dense population ready for them with booby traps
everywhere, well armed, very hateful, and even using children and
women, not only for cover, but also as guerilla combatants.
These tactics might not work so well against an invader without
conscience, such as the despotic, atheistic regimes governing Russia
and China, or the Muslim tyrannies in Iran, Syria, and several other
Muslim nations, for examples, but they worked with those who have
a conscience - the Israelis.
Add to this the fact that Israel was not able to use a major tactic
of warfare, the element of surprise.
Add to these the fact that the Israelis sent out word to the populace
that they were coming in, which is even more dangerous than losing
the element of surprise. The Israelis were trying to spare civilians,
many of which were dangerous.
The Israelis were on foreign territory, dense with a bitter populace,
with very unpleasant surprises planned well ahead of time for them,
and yet they walked in and returned, virtually unscathed. Yes, God
was with them. Normally, one could expect much worse. I have no
doubt many did. I did, and am so pleasantly surprised and elated
at how God answered our prayers, cursing the enemies of Israel.
Shall He stop now in His favor for them? Of course not! Now that
He has come this far for the Last Day, the Day of Wrap-up, why should
He? The deliverance day for Israel is now historically at hand at
long last. But it will be so good that the past will seem relatively
short for the goodness of which Israel, and indeed all mankind,
will be partakers.

Jesus Christ Here and Now
Most by far in Christendom, such as the Catholics, quote Jesus
as having said, “I Was.” Many, like the Seventh Day
Adventists and evangelicals, quote Him as saying, “I Will
Be.” Some, as the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses, quote
Him as saying, “I Never Was.” Only those who are His
quote Him as saying, “I Am.”

Creatures of the Dark and Their Destructive Criticism
We received this message from an anonymous visitor to our site:
-------- Original Message --------
Subject: Critical and What are saying you religious freek
Date: Wed, 10 Jun 2009 02:31:40 -0400 (EDT)
From: Anonymous Visitor <joe@getalife.com>
To: ask@thepathoftruth.com
Have you ever built anything. The prize is much greater than the
price.....
Our answer to him or her is: “How would you know?”
Seeing all manner of falsehood exposed on this site, some, like
Joe, being partakers and supporters of that which God has determined
to be removed from His sight, attack us with critical spirits, declaring
we are critical.
No doubt we are critical; that is only stating the obvious. But
to what end is our criticism? Do we attack people anonymously, calling
them names and giving no sound reason or evidence for such invectives?
No; we speak openly, without rancor, giving substance. This substance
serves not only to tear down the unlicensed, unsafe, unsanitary
buildings of men, which God has condemned, but also to build up
the sanctified, healing, pure Building ordained by God through Jesus
Christ, which is the gathering of His people incorporated into His
Body.
What substance does anonymous “Joe” have? None. What
is “Joe” building with his or her name calling? How
amazing the contradiction of the enemy! He or she brings nothing
of value to us (or to you). Even if there was something of value
this person withheld (and there isn't), we can't contact him or
her because the address, like the name, is fictitious. How instructive!
How constructive! Or is it, “How destructive!”?
Which is better - constructive criticism or unsubstantiated, bitter
criticism? You decide.
Meanwhile, “Joe” calls us "freeks" (it appears
that even his earthly education is limited, how much more the heavenly).
No doubt we are freaks to those who hide in the dark, afraid to
be seen or identified in the light of day with their beliefs, yet
driven by madness to furtive attacks. We know in Whom we have believed,
and we are not afraid to speak out. Indeed, knowing Him Who has
sent us, we dare not withhold from speaking out.
The dictionary gives this meaning to the actual word, "freak":
"Someone who is so ardently devoted
to something that it resembles an addiction."
By the grace of God, we are ardently devoted to Jesus Christ and
to the calling He has given us, to speak out against all lying falsehood
perpetrated in His Name or usurping His authority. As our brother
Jehu once did:
"'Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD'… And when
he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria,
till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD,
which He spoke to Elijah" (2 Kings 10:16-17 KJV).
According to the saying of the Lord, we both speak and do, by His
grace.

The Right Way to Produce Healthy Food
Do you understand what you are supporting when you eat conventional
poultry?
In January of 2009, Mark Benson, manager of Harvest
Haven Health & Market Farm, wrote to Ontario Minister
Dombrowsky in opposition to a movement to reduce the right of
farmers to raise poultry free-range, with access to the outdoors.
His letter highlights the stark differences between conventional
poultry farming and free-range poultry farming. The former is indifferent
to the health or welfare of the animals and those who consume them,
whereas the latter takes care of both by doing things right, giving
the birds the proper necessities of life.

No, We Can't!
If a man can receive nothing except it be given him from Above,
then to say “Yes, We Can!” is the height of presumption.
That was the rallying cry of the builders of the tower of Babylon,
and we all know that did not turn out well.

Conspiratorialism
Conspiratorialist – n. - one who focuses his energy and attention
on conspiracies, whether real or imagined.
The core of the problem with the conspiratorialist is that he refuses
to see his own corruption. Instead of seeing the corruption of all
men, he chooses to focus on the corruption of certain few. Thus,
he presumes to escape the reality of his own.
Ironically, he demonstrates his own corruption by choosing to point
the finger at others, while avoiding attention to, or diverting
it from, himself.
Curiously, where does the conspiratorialist think to hide, if those
of whom he speaks are so powerful? How does he propose to stop them,
or does he hope someone else will do the job? And how does he hide
from himself – the culprit within, the conspirator of conspirators?
And where is God in the mix of things? He is nowhere to be found,
though mentioned never or seldom or often. A typical conspiratorialist
seems to present God as running and hiding with him. What hope is
there if God cannot find a perfect solution for His creation, or
at least for those who might try to avail themselves of Him?
Conspiratorialists do not have their faith in God. They are escapists,
rebels, vainly searching for a hiding place from themselves. Why
will they not simply believe God and obey Him?

Swearing
“Again, you have heard that it has been said to the ancients, "You
shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the
Lord." But I say to you, Do not swear at all! Not by Heaven,
because it is God's throne; not by the earth, for it is the footstool
of His feet; not by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great
King; nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make
one hair white or black. But let your word be, Yes, yes; No, no.
For whatever is more than these comes from evil” (Matthew
5:33-37 MKJV).
Why would the courts and other institutions require that one swear
on a Bible, when the very Bible they use expressly commands that
one not do so? One cannot so much as make a promise to be virtuous
in any way:
“I know, LORD, that we humans are not in control of our own
lives” (Jeremiah 10:23 CEV).
So what may the Christian do when haled before the authorities
who require an assurance that one will speak the truth? I would
word it somewhat this way:
“Your honor, I cannot swear on the Bible because I desire
to live by the Bible, and It commands me to not swear at all. Therefore,
meaning no contempt whatsoever for this court, I understand such
swearing to be hypocritical and a contradiction of the first order.
“However, the Bible does command that we tell the truth and
do not lie. Therefore, I can only say that my intent and desire,
so help me God, are to tell the truth in this place and to honor
you, the authorities, as God would have me to do.”

The Tyranny of Pride
Why are we not offended at insults and evils done to us? It is
because God has removed the power and burden of pride in us. He
has crucified our egos, which are a hindrance to any man or woman
who desires to be free and live life to the fullest. The world thinks
pride is a good thing, but God calls it evil; there are few things
He despises more than man’s pride. It is written:
“Pride comes, then shame comes; but with the lowly is wisdom” (Proverbs
11:2 MKJV).
“Only by pride comes argument, but with those who take advice
is wisdom” (Proverbs 13:10 MKJV).
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before
a fall” (Proverbs 16:18 MKJV).
“A man's pride shall bring him low; but honor shall uphold
the humble in spirit” (Proverbs 29:23 MKJV).
The world thinks pride is good. How wrong it is! If people only
knew how much pride costs them! But almost all people, if they even
recognize their pride, are too proud to face the fact that pride
is not good; so they cling to their pride and inevitably succumb
to anger, depression, self-pity, resentment, bitterness, fear, worry,
revenge - all which lead, and bind them firmly, to loss, failure,
defeat, humiliation, sorrow, disappointment, misery, suffering,
destruction, and death in its many daily forms.

Beware of False Teachers
There are those who say we are critical and judgmental when they
see the False Teachers section, in which we expose those who deceive
and are in error. We make no apology, because we obey the Lord.
There are so many more we can add to the list, and we will do so
as we are given by the Lord.
Would it not be a wonderful thing if we could compile a list of those who were
once false teachers but who repented of their ways and openly declared their
sins and acknowledged their error and wickedness? We would love to have that
kind of list, much preferred to the one we now have. Alas, that is not the
way it is, so for now we solemnly say with the Lord and the apostles, “Beware”:
“And Jesus answering them began to say, Beware that no one deceive you” (Mark
13:5 MKJV).
“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew
7:15 MKJV).
“And Jesus said to them, Take heed, and beware the leaven
of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees” (Matthew 16:6 MKJV).
“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision
party” (Philippians 3:2 MKJV).
“For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves
shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also men shall
arise from your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to
draw disciples away after them. Therefore watch and remember that
for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night
and day with tears” (Acts 20:29-31 MKJV).
“And He said to them in His teaching, Beware of the scribes,
who love to walk about in robes, and love greetings in the markets,
and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost places
at feasts who devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense make
long prayers. These shall receive greater condemnation” (Mark
12:38-40 MKJV).
“Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit,
according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of
the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8 MKJV).
Even naming names: “Alexander the coppersmith showed many
evil things to me. The Lord will give back to him according to his
works. You also should beware of him, for he has greatly withstood
our words” (2 Timothy 4:14-15 MKJV).
For your life, we have been commanded to warn and to expose. For
your life, you have been commanded to beware. Accessing the False
Teachers and, indeed, the rest of our site, you will be obeying
the Lord and His disciples.
“Then I asked the LORD, ‘How long will this last?’ The
LORD answered: Until their towns are destroyed and their houses
are deserted, until their fields are empty, and I have sent them
far away, leaving their land in ruins” (Isaiah 6:11-12 CEV).

The Lord Stands Up for Israel
At the end of 2006, we raised the flag of Israel, a representation
of the spiritual stance the Lord gave us towards that nation. Now,
two years later at the same time of year, when gathered together
again at Harvest Haven, we prayed for Israel in its current war
in Gaza. Victor, in the Name of the Lord, cursed Hamas and all those
who stand with it against Israel.
There is much misinformation and purposeful obfuscation of the
reality of the situation in Israel with its hostile neighbors. The
world is asleep and blind to its hypocrisy in condemning Israel.
Here are two pieces that offer some reality - a writing on the moral
clarity of the war in Gaza, and a short visual presentation on the
facts of the history of the Middle East surrounding the Israeli-Arab
conflict.

A New Year’s Message to Our Group
Even though the Gentile calendar is not the one God would ultimately
have, certainly not with all its elements like the months and the
days named after other gods, still He has demonstrated to us that
He observes and honors the dates, whether for Himself, for us, or
for both. All things are in His hands, including the Gentiles and
all that they do.
For example, the tenth day of the seventh month is recorded
in Scripture as one of the most important days, if not the most important day,
of the year. This was the Day of Atonement, which occurred
during the Feast of Tabernacles in the Fall season of Israel.
God has made special use of July 10th, the parallel day on the Gentile calendar
for me, for us.
It all began to come to our attention at Lois' in Stettler on July
10, 1986. I had a vision of a mare giving birth to a colt. Marilyn
also received a Word and witness from the Lord about new beginnings
that agreed with the vision.
The very day those things were coming to us in Stettler, people
were breaking the ground at Moon River for their dream home, a log
house that would be ours within two years. Since that time, so many
things have happened on July 10th, many of which I am sure we are
not aware, but many of which we are.
My physical birth date was April 1st. While this is now April Fool’s
Day, I am told this day was once the New Year (a spring day, which
makes more sense to me than starting the year on January 1st). Marilyn
and I received the Spirit on January 1st, the present New Year.
I see significance there, too. Though that may seem to be somewhat
self-centered, I do not discount coincidences as purely accidental
or without purpose; I have learned better.
I thought it fitting to write you today, on this present Gentile
New Year’s Day, to announce, remind, exhort, and encourage
you all to look to this year as one in which the Lord does a special
work on all our behalves, whatever that may be. We have already
entered this year “out of the blocks,” running, with
so very much happening. We are busy here at Harvest Haven and in
Helena, every one of us, along with those working with us to do
what we are given to do.
My prayer has been that God would send many more workers. The tasks
are overwhelming, but we are confident that God only requires of
us that which we are able to handle. He gives as much grace as is
needed.
Now let’s acknowledge that if we were all to take buckets,
or large electric sump pumps and hoses, or even giant, super-efficient,
Dutch dike drainage pumps, we would still have some difficulty creating
a dry swath across the Red Sea or the Jordan River. So with what
we have before us now – the work is impossible to perform,
much less complete, be it the new building, the duties at the farm,
the internet outreach to the world, or the necessary changes within
us. So we must trust that God will perform all that He desires and
that He will only use each of us as He sees fit.
We are not here to accomplish; we are only here to trust and obey
in whatever He brings our way. That is our sole duty, and it is
our joy to perform. Having done not our pleasure but His, we have
a reward in store for us that is well beyond the present cost or
the burden borne.
Let’s enter 2009 with more than willingness; let us proceed
with alacrity and joy in the Lord. Has He not done great things
for us already? He has indeed done great things - who can argue?
We can do nothing, but He can do everything.
Let us then expect more; let us expect
the impossible, as He declared and as Sara received.
Let us look forward to the Lord destroying men’s works
that have destroyed in Heaven and earth; let us look forward
to His redeeming mankind, one by one, and Israel, as a nation
beloved and no longer forsaken. Let us look forward with great
anticipation to the Lord doing away with the enemies that seek
to destroy His people and His work.
If God be for us, who can be against us? What can man do to us?
What circumstances can possibly stop or prevent the Engineer of
all things, Who does as He pleases?
We are in for a ride this year, folks. The noose has now tightened
and the scaffold door drops open for the ungodly and the wicked.
God have mercy on us. May we walk wisely and be found doing that
which is right and just and merciful, as He wills and not as we
might think, toward all.
Perhaps most important of all, let’s give thanks to the Lord
in and for everything. Let us praise the Lord constantly, for therein
is our victory. By faith we overcome; genuine and holy thanksgiving
and praise put faith into action, and then we see the impossible
we have expected by His command. And God is glorified! Praise the
Lord!
Before you walk away from this letter, pray for Israel now to prevail
over its enemies. Give thanks for what God is doing by Michael and
the angels as they do battle on Israel’s behalf. As it is
written, Michael shall stand up. This is that day. Praise the Lord!
