“I did not come with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:1-2).

A Curse on the Betrayal of Canada

For our American and other readers outside of Canada, you may not be aware of the current crisis in the Canadian government, wherein three minority parties made an unprincipled pact to overthrow the recently elected Prime Minister on no other ostensible grounds than not agreeing with some of his policies that exercise fiscal responsibility in a time of economic calamity. You can read about the basics of this situation HERE. (This is an article of how the situation began a couple of days ago; you can read about recent developments in the news.)

Here is the view of Heaven on this action, as written by Victor Hafichuk on December 1st, 2008:

Stray curs gather. But the populace has spoken. No, they do not want any of these curs to be their guard dogs. So the curs go away, sullen and defeated - but not resigned. Now they gather together, their countenances suddenly changed, manifesting their true natures.

They return, not seeking permission to serve as guards for the owners, but brazenly, as a pack with power in numbers to seize for themselves what they would still pretend to unselfishly guard.

Cursed be they who, for personal gain, seize what is not theirs.

Cursed be they who gather in the name of principle and virtue, but there only to take undue advantage. These are worse than unpretentious Somali pirates.

Cursed be they who make unholy alliances, jumping into bed with any partner to please those not worth pleasing.

Let them suffer the wrongs they seek to perpetrate. Let them be cursed of God, and let all people know that God reigns in Heaven against all ungodliness over the affairs of men. Let the pack be broken and scattered.

May God grant wisdom and strength to those who would govern with discretion and honesty.

Pitying the Bullied

It is said that bullies are to be pitied. Rarely do we see them pitied but almost always do we see their victims pitied. Let it be known that neither is to be pitied. I have never seen pity build or restore. I have never seen pity heal or reverse damages. There is a better and a sure way for all those who are willing to forsake the tempting pleasure of sympathy and trade it for reality and restitution to wholeness. Furthermore, the sad, even traumatic, experience of being bullied will turn out to be an asset, a gain, a discovered hidden treasure, guaranteed.

"The Harness of the Lord"

Years ago, the Lord gave me a vision of a mortar and pestle, and said to me: "You are My son; you are My discipline." Disciples are those who delight in the Law of the Lord. They learn not to despise correction, the chastening rod of truth. That is exactly why they are called "disciples" or "disciplined ones." They have accepted His harness.

I rejoiced when I first red Bill Britton's vision, which he called "The Harness of the Lord." I found it perfectly appropriate and so descriptive of my experience in the Lord. For all those who would be the Lord's, they will come away from the rebellion that says, "You're not going to tell me what to do!" Instead, they will take upon themselves the Lord's yoke and burden, saying, "Your will, not mine, be done." Then will they have their great reward - the peaceable fruit of righteousness.

Helena Library Conclusion

On October 21 we attended the Lewis and Clark Library board meeting to witness the decision of the board on The Joy of Gay Sex. To no one’s surprise, the board unanimously approved the review committee’s and director’s decision to retain this vile book in the library’s active collection.

The rationale given for this decision was that the book met all the guidelines of the selection policy. My reply was that if the guidelines allow for putting such materials on the bookshelf, then they need to be changed or scrapped altogether.

How fitting a conclusion to this matter, when I initially protested this book because it openly flouted the Laws of God. Now the library board justifies its initial decision to buy the book by appealing to a corrupt law of their own making. This is an excellent illustration of the endemic evil that covers this land. Men have framed laws and conventions to nullify God’s Laws.

And one thing is certain: When the laws of men contravene the Laws of God, trouble ensues. The results that surround us today amply speak for themselves. The recent tragedies befalling the United States and other Western nations are also part of the picture and are just the beginning of woes. But how blinded people are to the reaping of evil for which they have diligently sown! That is part of the curse of choosing evil rather than doing right.

The Lord Jesus Christ – Our Party and Our Cause

If Catholics stand against abortion, I am “Catholic.”

If SDAs keep the Sabbath, I am “SDA.”

If Mormons teach that sons of God will grow up to be as God, I am “Mormon.”

If Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t celebrate Christmas, I am a “Jehovah’s Witness.”

If Muslims stand against the falsehood in nominal Christendom, I am “Muslim.”

If Muslims stand against homosexuality, I am “Muslim.”

If Muslims stand for murder, we are “anti-Muslims”; if they stand for death to Israel and America, we are “anti-Muslims.”

If America stands for death to Muslims, we are “anti-American,” but if Americans must fight and kill to stop murder and Islam, we are “pro-American.”

If homosexuals condemn hypocrisy, we stand in agreement with them.

If feminists stand against spousal brutality, we are “feminists.”

If Christians support abortion, we are “anti-Christian.”

If angels stand for antiBiblicalism, we are against them.

If Jews or Israel stand for wrong, we are “antiSemite” or “anti-Israel.”

If the world and the UN stand against Israel, we are against the world and the UN.

If Canada stands against Israel, I am “not Canadian.”

If America stands against the Law of God, I am “not American.”

If America is corrupt and has no blessing coming but the opposite, I stand with Dr. Wright, Barack Obama’s mentor, and declare, “God damn America” - he is right.

If the Canadian Parliament frames laws against the Bible and the Supreme Court of Canada enforces them, I am automatically a criminal. If Canada stands for religious freedom for any and all, regardless of the nature of that religion, we are against religious freedom.

If Billy Graham says America must repent of its sins - that’s why 9/11 happened -we support Billy Graham. But if he points to others as guilty, and ignores America’s guilt, we are against Mr. Graham.

By God’s grace and only by His grace, we stand with right and truth wherever it may be found and condemn all wrong and error – untruth. If some wish to box or slot us, they will be forced to do so based only on right and wrong.

We are not anti-gay, anti-Islam, anti-Mormon, anti-Catholic, anti-Protestant, or anti-anything or anybody but anti-wrong; we are not pro-life or pro-democracy but pro-right.

Because Islam, Mormonism, Catholicism, Protestantism, and other movements of men coming in the Name of God teach directly against the Word of God, we are against them, even as is our Head, Who said to them in the days of His flesh:

“Why do you, yourselves, go against the Word of God on account of the teaching which has been handed down to you?...you have made the word of God without effect because of your teaching” (Matthew 15:3-6 BBE).

We are pro-Jesus Christ, Who is Right Incarnate, and His Law, Which is Right, and we are anti-wrong from all quarters, no matter who commits it. It has nothing to do with any agenda, but everything to do with representing the Lord Jesus Christ as He is and as He wills. By His grace, we are completely His partisan supporters.

Partisan - “Devoted to a cause or party.” He and His saints are our Party and our Cause. He is the First Cause (Exposing Evolutionists).

The Joy of Gay Sex?

One day this past February, Paul perused the "New" bookshelf at the Lewis & Clark Public Library in Helena, Montana, and he saw The Joy of Gay Sex. Taking a glance at its contents led to a formal request to remove the book from the library and public hearings over, "Does such a book belong in the public library?"

Paul's Letter to the Editor in the Independent Record and the Queen City News tells more about how this process began.

The director of the library, Judy Hart, agreed to hear comments on this book from Paul Cohen and other community members at the board meeting on August 25th, 2008. Here is our Handout of Points Paul took to the meeting.

After the meeting, I wrote a summary of the points covered by all speakers. Here is that Summary with Paul's Notes and Answers interspersed throughout the commentary.

Tonight, September 16th, 2008, a second public hearing was held at the Large Meeting Room at the library. There were eighteen speakers for keeping the book, and ten against (two of those asking for it to be put in an adult section).

Here is a Summary of the Public Hearing with Paul's Commentary.

Comments can be submitted in writing to the library board through October 3rd. One page of written comment is allowed.

We have had further debate on this matter. Here you can read various Letters to the Editor of the Helena Independent Record with all comments, with some correspondence as well:

Enjoy the Adversity

Enjoy adversity? Whoever heard of such a thing? What am I, a masochist? While being troubled about some matters that were not going as I would like them to go, I mentioned it to Lois. As always, the answer was, “Give thanks.” I said, “Yes.” I headed to the lawn to do some work and gave thanks, but then I received something more. Not only was it needful and fitting that I should give thanks for this, as with everything, I should enjoy what is happening.

People owe me money, I was willing to lend it to them because they were in need, and now I don’t even hear from them. One is even greatly offended at me, though and because I was warning and instructing him for good, and I am to enjoy this?

In these kinds of adverse circumstances, I begin to look at myself and ask, “Where did I go wrong? What did I do wrong? Where have I disobeyed? Why didn’t I see those ominous signs of potential trouble? Was it greed or what?” But the Lord made known to me that He has done His chastening with me. I am now ruling with Him, on His throne. There need be no more correction; I am corrected. So these adversities that are now happening are for another reason. I am not the issue; I need only to sit back and enjoy what the Lord is doing with and in these matters. I am to enjoy my adversities, yet not the adversities themselves so much as watching the Lord working them for good, watching Him do what needs to be done in perfection.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28 MKJV).

The enemy will resist and seek to destroy me or mine, but he cannot touch me at the throne of God, where God has now seated me with Him. Neither must I do battle with those who seek my hurt. God will take care of it all, as promised:

“The LORD said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right side, until I make Your enemies into a footstool for You.’ The LORD will let Your power reach out from Zion, and You will rule over Your enemies. Your glorious power will be seen on the day You begin to rule. You will wear the sacred robes and shine like the morning sun in all of Your strength” (Psalms 110:1-3 CEV).

Yes, the passage refers to the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is also a promise for every believer who comes to rest and victory in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has obtained that victory for His entire Body. Each member must enter into that place of rest, of victory, of overcoming, and enjoy the adversities.

Surely, Abraham, Elijah, Moses, along with all the saints, apostles, and prophets are watching developments on earth. To us it looks messy and foreboding. Consider the insane hatred the Arabs and Muslims have for Israel, Jews, and Christians, for instance, not to mention so many other evils occurring and threatening. But I know that those in Heaven who have gained the victory are watching God at work and thoroughly enjoying it, knowing He has the victory and that it will all end well.

Enjoy the adversities? When we come to that place of victory within, we will be able to do as did Paul and Silas. With torn flesh and backs bleeding, they sang praises to God in the middle of the night while chained in prison cells, though they were blameless of any wrongdoing and unjustly punished. They had the victory within. They were not only giving thanks; they were enjoying the adversity. They were confident of God and His work. And God saved the jailer and his household (Acts 16).

We can have the finest of health, family, friends, home, car, weather, foods, art - all possessions and abilities to excel above everyone else in this world, yet if we do not have the capacity to enjoy, we cannot enjoy any of these things. Place a great piece of art in front of a dog and he is as inclined to lift his leg on it as to look at it. So it is with man. Without the internal victory in Christ, we cannot enjoy the best; we have no ability to do so. On the other hand, we can be beaten and chained in a dungeon on false charges, and enjoy God and His doing because we have the capacity within to do so. What we have externally is not what counts. We see the truth of this everywhere all the time.

Why is this? It is because our whole existence here on earth is not for the things of this world, but for that which comes after. It is for God Himself.

So now I enjoy the view from the throne above and watch God work, resting in Him, knowing that all will be well, just as He has promised.

Yes, Things Are Bad, But What Is the Answer?

“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6 MKJV).

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only-begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18 MKJV).

“He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him” (John 3:36 MKJV).

“As the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved’” (Romans 10:13 GNB).

Frequently I am drawn into conversations about how bad things are getting. We talk about the strange and adverse weather conditions the world over - the earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, droughts, floods, and heat waves. We talk about the rising price of oil and the consequent inflation, the growth of the bio-fuel industry and the grave consequences of the price of food sharply increasing to subject a third of the world to near starvation.

Then there is the real estate crisis in the U.S. with large banks in trouble and a staggering federal debt, climbing wildly by the minute. Americans and others are embroiled in a war they cannot win, though they hold out vain hopes and promises. Enemies are threatening from several directions - Russia with its new economic clout and political turnaround by Putin, China with its piracy of patents and flooding America and the world with its products while unemploying millions of Americans, and Islam aggressively taking over the world with its oil revenues.

There is the Middle East crisis, the Muslims slaughtering non-Muslims and other sects of Islam. We hear Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah, Fatah, and Al Qaeda threatening and swearing to annihilate Israel. With that is the threat of nuclear war from Iran, Pakistan, Russia, and other countries.

We talk about corruption in politics, government, religion, and every significant nation, institution, and organization on earth. In the world of medicine, people are dying like flies from every kind of disease one can imagine, with new ones coming and old ones reviving, much of this caused by the medical world and the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries. In the food industry we have, along with the chemical toxins applied to nearly everything consumed, the threat of a multitude of Frankenfoods unleashed on an unsuspecting and ignorant public, produced by ruthless money and power-hungry corporations like Monsanto and Cargill, who stop at nothing to grow and prosper.

There is the oppression of the masses by government institutions such as the FDA, Health Canada, CFIA, EPA, and so many others like the medical associations. There are the educational institutions that push humanism, atheism, and evolution. There is the proliferating promotion of philosophies and lifestyles like homosexuality, fornication, abortion, antiChrist religion, feminism, drugs (mostly legal), all contrary to God and the Scriptures.

The religious scene is the vilest of them all. Millions of nominal Christians are hypocritically preaching virtue but doing as they please, withholding nothing from themselves to please their lusts. Of those who are disciplined to any extent on the physical plane, their doctrines, philosophies, and attitudes contradict God and the Scriptures, and just try to tell them differently.

I could go on and on about corporate greed, governmental corruption, social lawlessness and immorality, environmental pollution, super bugs, threatening plagues, widespread crime, conspiracies at work to enslave or destroy our world, legal and illegal drugs, you name it. It is the world madly abandoning itself to every vice and pleasure imaginable.

At one time, there was one in a million standing on the street corner wearing a gown, sporting a beard and a sign that warned of the end of the world. But now many more are seeing the end coming, not because they are crazed, but because it is happening. They see the evil and the omens of pending doom everywhere – on the streets, in the offices and stores, in all the media, the news, sitcoms, movies, and at other places of entertainment, including churches and homes. It is indelibly etched in every visage. It has become a vile world - corrupt, greedy, uncaring, fearful, insensitive, and so, so foolish and stupid, abhorrently godless.

But what is the point of all this kind of talk and thought? Where are we going with this negative news? What profit is there in it? By focusing on these things, are we getting anywhere? I say, “No.”

So what is the answer? What can we say to those who reflect and remark on these things? That depends on the person and why they are bringing these matters up. Are they complaining, diverting attention from themselves, or entertaining themselves with sensationalism? Are they curious? Or are they genuinely looking for answers, willing and prepared to act, whatever the cost may be?

Here is the answer for those interested in the only answer there is:

It begins with you and you alone. You must go to God and get in touch with Him directly. You must turn from your independence of Him. Every aspect of your life must be surrendered to Him. There is no other way. And only He can do this for you. One will find that if he or she tries to be good or right or pleasing to God in any way, or tries to change intrinsically, that one will fail miserably. That is what happened to me as I sought after God - but He succeeded where I failed. He gave me the grace to continue searching after Him, after Reality and Truth, even if I was failing and felt it was a hopeless endeavor. The message to the sincere seeker is: Don’t quit.

God will make known to you that there are not many ways to Him, only one. That way is the Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for sinners and after three days was raised from the dead, victorious over all things. After finding Him and identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection, all questions of concern to you will begin to be answered. You will realize that the world is on a collision course, but it will not concern you because you will know that God is in full control of everything. All things must take their course.

There may be those who need to hear that the only way they can weather the coming storm, the mother of all storms, is to be grounded in Jesus Christ. He is the One and Only Authorized Mediator between God and man. There is no other. Knowing Him, having repented of sin, one will perceive the troubles of this world with understanding, from a new and reasonable perspective. Fears, doubts, and confusion will disappear. Sure hope will be established, and nothing will move the one planted in Jesus Christ, the Foundational Rock of Life.

“How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without preaching? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!’” (Romans 10:14-15 MKJV)

We are here as His representatives to direct you to God. We know the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We have met Him because He has revealed Himself to us, and we are here to tell you that if He so chooses, if He has determined to give you salvation at this time, then you will gladly hear and receive what we have to say. Our words are life-changing; they are perfectly able, with faith from God, to bring about the change you need in your life so as to not perish with the world. If you cannot hear or receive us, there is no hope for you now; perhaps in another life or time, but not now. God will make known His will for you plainly enough to us.

Abortion

The Issues of Life began, in 2003, with a reader’s response to our third Harvest Haven Herald. Victor, talking about the sad state of affairs in the world and Canada, mentioned the legalization of “gay marriages,” among other things. A complaint soon followed - “How bigoted you are to speak against ‘gay marriage’!” When sending his reply, it struck Victor as a God-given opportunity to share his answer with others, bringing to light the darkness of commonly held convictions and errors before many.

We recently passed along a notice from one of our customers, giving people the opportunity to register their disapproval of the Canadian government’s award of the Order of Canada to a doctor for his work as an abortionist. This time, several complained. Once again, the complaints have served as a backdrop for the wisdom and counsel of God to be heard by many, for which all saints are extremely grateful.

The Best and the Worst

The world praises the one who brings out the best in others, which may be fine, but the greater need of mankind is that we bring out the worst. Yes, you red that right.

Those who speak the Truth of God will bring out the worst. An acquaintance of ours began to believe what we were preaching, which was quite contrary to her beliefs and practices and those of her family and religious friends theretofore. When her family became aware of her wanting to join herself to us, they examined our site and doctrine and were offended; some were alarmed and came out with threats and curses. Our friend was shocked and saddened, as she put it, that her sons and daughters and their spouses would react in such ungodly fashion. After all, she thought to have taught them differently; they all profess faith in Jesus Christ. Most of them are members of what are known as Christian churches and Bible-preaching religious organizations, such as the United Pentecostals and the Foursquare Gospel. Her youngest is a pastor and fervent in works in the Name of God. The talks and works are there.

She had always been trying to bring out the best in them, to teach her children how to believe, speak, and act as Christians, according to her understanding. Little did she know that what they needed was the Truth instead of doctrine, substance instead of form, reality instead of religion, and rebuke instead of praise. Little did she know they needed exposure instead of display. It was not enough to dress dogs in wool and make them look like sheep. They needed to be exposed for the dogs they are and told the truth (that they are dogs and that only the miracle-working, resurrection power of Jesus Christ could make of them sheep, new creatures in Christ). Only His righteousness counts, and reasonable facsimiles will not do.

The truth preached in our letters and on our site told them they were wrong, in darkness, in error, not within the Kingdom of God, and not pleasing to God as they suppose (in short, they are dogs), bringing out the worst in them. To the religious who are consumed by their own righteousness, their exposure is shocking, but it necessarily manifests the reality of their state. When the worst comes out, they can decide to continue therein and grow worse yet, or they can decide to repent and come to the Lord to be changed, that they might worship Him in spirit and truth with a new heart, which He alone can give them.

Did not Jesus Christ and His disciples bring out the worst in man? Did not Jesus warn His disciples that they would be hated by all men as He was? Did the people not kill them? Yet in the process of their exposure, salvation came to the killers. Indeed, some experienced a complete reversal of attitude and action. As the apostle Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus, wrote to new converts:

“But only they were hearing that he who then persecuted us, now preaches the faith which he once ravaged. And they glorified God in me” (Galatians 1:23-24 MKJV).

First must the worst be exposed and identified. Only then can the true solution come. As whitewash covers but does not change, so religion conceals the corrupt nature while the corruption remains. Only an entire replacement of an old nature by a new will do. We need men to speak the truth, so that the worst may come out in those who hear the truth.

Aerial Crop Spraying

A Heinous yet Generally Accepted Social, Economic, and Environmental Crime

As I write, I hear the roar of crop dusters in our area. It amazes me how anybody can even conceive the notion that people have the right to spray their properties from a plane with toxic chemicals, knowing full well that some of them will carry into their neighbors’ properties. It is an unconscionable act, and I am perplexed that there are not great cries of outrage and protest - petitions, marches and all. Indeed, one wonders how this madness could ever have been permitted. The likely reasons for the lack of opposition to this crime are ignorance and having so many other apparently bigger fish to fry. How many people living in cities actually get to see or experience firsthand the effects of this poisonous practice? It is out of sight, out of mind. Many do not know or care about what they are eating and supporting.

And, to be sure, we have many forms of madness, several even worse, like abortion and vaccinations, but, truly, crop dusting (or crop spraying) is another abomination to all life.

Many are the stories I have heard of people having damage to their gardens, trees, and general greenery because of aerial spraying near them. And how many are those affected in their health? Many of these stories have come without solicitation or direct discussion of the specific subject.

What is accepted as a necessity or productive agricultural practice ought to be condemned as a crime, and its perpetrators fined and jailed. How dare they impose their poisons on those who not only do not want or need them, but who are harmed by them! Furthermore, nobody needs them.

Crop spraying or dusting occurs often near our community. At one particular time, a potato crop was being sprayed for insects, and the prevailing winds brought the visible mist of chemical upon us. Our eyes teared, our noses and throats reacted, and we were helpless to do anything about it. What are we supposed to do, keep greenhouses for our gardens and have gas masks and protective clothing at the ready? What shall we do for our children? Must we run for our houses, shut off air conditioners and fans and remain locked up just because the perpetrator seeks to benefit himself financially, the neighbors be damned? What is this?

At the time this particular spraying occurred, I tried to call whatever authorities I could think of that were available. I got nowhere. A representative for a government institution (I don’t remember which) came out and rather tactfully (he seemed to be coached for such cases) defended the practice of aerial spraying of pesticides as though I was protesting people wearing clothing in public. “What’s the big deal?” was the essence of his attitude, though well masked. To him, I was a fretting crackpot.

We have people protesting the use of animal fur. We have the SPCA, Greenpeace, and other organizations taking up the cause of the environment, animal abuse, and other various issues. How few there are who recognize the vile, wholesale slaughter of people, animals, greenery, insects and important microcosms necessary for health and well being by aerial and ground crop spraying with synthetic pesticides! I say that those responsible for that kind of crop spraying are guilty of unpremeditated murder. Even ground, never mind aerial, crop spraying should be counted an indictable offense. It should be unheard of. Nobody should have to put up with it any more than they should have to put up with arsonists, vandals and stalkers.

No wonder we have the high incidence of mental, physical and emotional diseases. In many and diverse ways, we are destroying ourselves, and few care to pay any mind. People today are the unquestioning populace of Logan’s Run, deceived and conditioned to believe the biggest lies and perishing in the process.

The Right Way vs. Any Way

I sent this note to Keith:

Hi Keith,

We found your site because it is subtitled with a name (A Path of Truth) very similar to our own (The Path of the Truth). What a world of difference a word makes! The Lord Jesus Christ said (not “a” Lord Jesus Christ; there are many imposters):

“How narrow the gate, and confined the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it!” (Matthew 7:14 EMTV).

Solomon, in his wisdom from God, wrote this:

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death” (Proverbs 16:25 MKJV).

You have been on ways that have seemed right to you, but one after one they have failed, ending in death. So will your latest way fail too, because it is a way, not the Way of Truth and Life.

So what is the Way? Is it love? Did God say you could enter His Kingdom by tapping into the latent power of love within you? Here is what He says:

“I am the Door. If anyone enters in by Me, he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9 MKJV).

Jesus Christ is the Door, the Gate, the Way. He is Love, Keith. You are looking within yourself to find goodness, love, and God; but He and His attributes are not there. Here is what the Scriptures, which we have discovered to be true in every way, say about what is inside you:

Romans 3:10-18 EMTV
(10) Just as it is written: “There is none righteous, no not one,
(11) There is none who understands; there is none who seeks God.
(12) All have turned aside; together they became unprofitable; there is not one doing kindness, there is not so much as one.”
(13) “Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived”; “ the poison of asps is under their lips”;
(14) “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
(15) Their feet are swift to shed blood;
(16) Ruin and misery are in their ways;
(17) And the way of peace they did not know.
(18) There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

And:

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9 MKJV)

Negative thinking? No. Reality. Jesus said of the man who rhetorically asked whether anything good could come out of Nazareth, “Behold, an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile!” And it was of this man, who declared and believed in the Son of God, that Jesus said:

“Most assuredly I say to you, from now on you shall see Heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man” (John 1:51 EMTV).

Regarding the many ways of which you approve on your site, Keith, we show the specific faults and errors of many, if not all, on ours. Are we proving everyone else wrong to be right, or is it because we have been made right in the Beloved that we show others wrong? As His redeemed, we confirm what He has shown and told us:

“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly I say to you, I am the Door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them’” (John 10:7-8 EMTV).

Do you really want to continue being robbed, and to rob others of what could be theirs if they were turned to and obeyed their rightful Lord? Hasn’t it been enough already? And forget what all of you could have, how about simply what you owe Him, your lives?

Do read our site.

God’s Business Is Serious Business

In this incident in which Jonathan dislocated his elbow, I am taking stock and realizing the gravity of God’s calling, revelations and commands. It is serious business. I consider that:

  • He had to break my leg to get my attention and set me on track.
  • Now I find Him gently “breaking” Jonathan’s arm to get his attention.
  • Did not the Lord wipe out the entire population of earth in Noah’s day?
  • Did He not slay Judah’s sons, Er and Onan, for their neglect and rebellion?
  • Shall we take a look at the consequences of Abraham’s taking Hagar to try to help God keep His promise of a son?
  • Did not Samson lose his eyes because he neglected to obey God after being pressed for his secret?
  • Did not Zedekiah have his eyes put out for rebelling against God’s command?
  • Did not a prophet get killed by a lion because he disregarded God’s command?
  • Did not the Lord have Pilate slay some and mix their blood with their sacrifices, and did not the tower of Siloam fall on some because of their unrepentance (Luke 13)?
  • Did not Rachel die in childbirth because she valued and stole her father’s gods and lied to both her father and husband about them?
  • Did not the Lord seek to slay Moses’ son when Moses but neglected to circumcise him?
  • Did not David suffer the loss of at least 3, if not 4, sons and 10 concubines, along with many others, for his sin with Bathsheba?
  • Did not thousands die for murmuring, bitten of serpents?
  • Did not God slay Nadab and Abihu for offering up strange fire to Him?
  • Did not Uzzah die for apparently unintentional irreverence in putting forth his hand to stabilize the ark?
  • Did not 36 men of Israel die for Achan’s sin, besides him and those in his family?
  • Did not God wipe out Job’s 10 children and many servants?
  • Did not God ignore all widows but one in Elijah’s day in a famine?
  • Did He not ignore all lepers but one in Elisha’s day?
  • Did He not cause women of His people to kill and to eat their own children in the siege?
  • Did not God send fire on Sodom and Gomorrah and utterly destroy them?
  • Did the Lord not strike Miriam, Moses’ sister no less and a prophetess, with leprosy for murmuring against Moses?
  • Did not the Lord open the ground and have Korah, Dathan, and Abiram swallowed up, with their wives and little ones, for their gainsaying and murmuring?
  • Was not Uzziah condemned to leprosy when presumptuous and irreverent?
  • Were not 42 children destroyed by two she bears when they mocked a prophet of God?
  • Did not Jonathan die for standing by his father Saul’s side, even though he was David’s friend?
  • Did not the Lord say, by Moses, that those who did not heed “that prophet” would be destroyed?
  • Did not the Lord have many young boys die by Herod when he sought for the Christ child?
  • Did not God slay Ananias and Sapphira for lying?

What is life to Him? God’s business is serious business. He is serious with us, and He will not permit our being lackadaisical with Him. “Behold both the goodness and severity of God.” How can we not be serious, sober and vigilant in all things?

Let’s consider the present day and the events in our own midst. What has happened to Howard and Jason Benson, Delores Molnar, Pascal Gregoire, Stan Howell, and so many others?

Consider the stupid and ignorant notions about the nature and character of God prevalent in our society today, and the false gospel of mush and sentimentality all around us? Are those people not perishing? Will they not perish? Believe it – they will and are!

What will happen to all those who oppose us for righteousness’ sake?

God had shown me the black angels over the neighbor’s house, where Jonathan was injured. Yes, that was over 18 years ago! So what? No, He did not give me explicit commands, like, “Don’t go there; don’t have any more to do with them,” but must He? Shall we ever be guided by bit, bridle, whip and spur? We are to take heed; the sooner, the better, the more earnestly, the better. Woe to us if we do not. Jonathan had no business there, if only because of that revelation, and especially on the Sabbath, doing what he was doing.

God has not only finished winking with the nations; He has also finished winking with us. And that is why we must speak up and do His will without hesitation, ambiguity, or equivocation. This is especially so when given our great privilege and responsibility we have been granted of God for this day! Wow! All the more will we be called into account, not in the “by and by,” but here and now, even as it happened with all those I have mentioned.

Furthermore, consider how the Lord commanded Israel that when they entered Canaan, they were to destroy all its inhabitants - men, women and children. They were to be ruthless. Was God sparing the tender, delicate, pretty young maid? Was he sparing the suckling? Did He spare any of these in Sodom and Gomorrah or in Jericho, besides Rahab and her house, who assisted God’s people?

Did Saul not lose his kingdom because he failed to kill everything living of the Amalekites and because God had commanded otherwise? What kind of loving prophet was Samuel, who hewed Agag to pieces with a sword after Agag pitifully said, “Surely, the bitterness of death is past”?

If God has finished winking, having repeatedly said so, what are we doing overlooking trespasses and offenses? Are we winking? Is this a time for winking? Isaiah was told, “Cry aloud, spare not….” Is not the Spirit of God the same yesterday and today and forever?

All those who took His life were slain and their nation scattered to the four winds, and what a slaughter that was! And all this was after, not before, His resurrection and ascension. What kind of teaching is it that Jesus would never do such things now, and that He is full of pity and compassion - He wouldn’t hurt a fly? This teaching is demonic and highly deceptive. Look how it has won the hearts of carnal men and even deceived the believing.

Does not Scripture declare dire consequences for offenders in this present “dispensation”? Yes indeed, It does:

“He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him Who has said, ‘Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord.’ And again, ‘The Lord shall judge His people.’ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:28-31 MKJV).

God made it known very clearly just how serious matters are. He sacrificed His only begotten Son, that’s how serious matters of our existence are. Consider also that His life was not taken by a quiet departing in His sleep or by a merciful bullet to the head or by lethal injection on a cushioned gurney or even by an efficient hanging. No, He had to suffer the horrible agony and public humiliation of the cross, no less, at the hands of brute beasts, with His own people crying for His blood and His own Father turning His back on Him. “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

That is how serious it is; but no, we must spare ourselves the gravity of life. It is enough we must live it. We must not make it any worse than it already is (I speak with tongue in cheek) - we must be gentle and tenderhearted and kind and sympathetic and loving and sweet and understanding and wise and compassionate and “godly” and “Christlike.”

Devils tie our hands and tape our mouths with sweet, desirable malarkey. That is Satan’s strategy and his False Love.

Make your enemies now,” says the Lord.

He that keeps his life will lose it,” He says.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice as a trumpet and tell My people their sins,” He cries.

Spare not,” He declares, but Agag says, “Surely the bitterness of death is past.”

God says, “Spare not,” but Satan says, “Let’s love one another.”

God says, “Spare not,” but messengers of Satan, posing as God’s ministers, choose to flatter and coddle and savor the things that are of men, and thus he prevails over them to destroy. Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me and to God!

Willpower Posing as Faith

Many professors of Christ proclaim they are believing for their healing of deadly diseases such as cancer. Why must one believe for something God gladly gives to His children who obey Him? Must I believe for the air that I breathe? What is wrong with this picture?

The problem with this kind of believing is that God wants you to trust and obey Him rather than exert your own willpower. Doing the latter is flaunting your righteousness before God, trusting in yourself and in your ability to trust Him. It is a subtle manifestation of self-willed piety, the very opposite of faith, which is what God wants. Substituting your works for His faith to get what you want is vile, nothing less than sorcery. God wants obedience, not sacrifice.

If you are believing Him for healing, thinking that by such a course you will manifest your healing, you are making sacrifices for what you want rather than obeying God in what He wants. You are not out to honor and obey Him as Lord, despite the appearance that deceives yourself and others. You are only out to use God for your own aggrandizement and to fulfill your desires. This is rebellion, the sin of witchcraft. It is effrontery against God.

We were made for God, not for ourselves. Deny this fact by seeking to save your life and you will lose it. Or, as Jesus said, you can lose your life for His sake and gain it. You who claim to believe for your healing are seeking to get from, rather than submit to, God. You are saving your lives at the expense of His. You have eaten from the Tree of Knowledge and have had your eyes opened to be as God. You are disconnected and dead.

And you are not hearing from God. Believing you are or will be healed is only according to the knowledge of good and evil you have gotten for yourself contrary to the commandment of God not to eat from that tree. It is presumptuousness because God has said nothing to you. You have knowledge, but not of Him, from Him.

All that God requires is that you obey Him. If you obey Him, you don’t have to claim anything; it is automatically yours:

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him” (John 14:21 MKJV).

Will the Lord withhold something good from those He loves?

“The Lord God is our sun and our strength: the Lord will give grace and glory: He will not keep back any good thing from those whose ways are upright” (Psalms 84:11 BBE).

To such as keep His commandments, it is written:

“For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things coming--all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21-22 EMTV).

But obedience costs your life, and you who claim to believe for your healing are looking to add to your life, not give it up. You will be the big hero when you get back from the hospital and go to church, glowing and demonstrating your righteousness. “Let my light shine,” you say. “God healed me; look at me, look at my shining skin. Now I am here to tell everyone!” You will write your book and make your millions. It is all an ego trip, an investment in self for fame, glory and prosperity.

The Lord Jesus Christ says that you can't make one hair on your head black or add one inch to your stature. If you cannot do these things, neither can you materialize your healing, no matter how hard you believe. The only viable thing to do is to obey the Lord, which is to commit yourself to Him as your faithful Creator. You are His property, bought and paid for.

“And he said, If with all your heart you will give attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His eyes, giving ear to His orders and keeping His laws, I will not put on you any of the diseases which I put on the Egyptians: for I am the Lord your Life-Giver” (Exodus 15:26 BBE).

Life Has a Price Tag

Jesus Christ paid the price, and those who will enter life must pay the price. There is nothing worthwhile gained in this world or the next without paying the price. Those who believe will pay it.

Religion is about a free ride. Those who are religious want the glory without the cross. That is what religion is all about, be it Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Catholicism, Mormonism, or any other.

Reality is about paying the price for Christ’s sake, about laying down the life. There is no other way to true victory, fulfillment, gain and peace.

Message to Israel

I would like to make some simple points on Emuna Braverman's perspective, which, it seems, is that of many Jews:

God - He it is that gives and takes away. He gave the land to the Jews many times and He took it away. When He takes away, no nation or people, Jew or Gentile, no matter how numerous or militarily powerful or superior in any earthly way, can keep anything or retrieve it once gone, if God determines to take it or keep it away. If they get it back, it will only be because He gave it back, not Herzl, Ben Gurion, Sharon, Meir, Weizmann, Balfour, Allenby, Churchill, Bush, or any other.

On the other hand, when He gives (and He has given the land back to the Jews in our day - and will give yet more) they need not worry or fear, because no nation(s) or people(s) can neutralize His will. The entire Arab/Muslim populace can do nothing; Europe can do nothing; China or Russia can do nothing, nor can any other, even if they were all united together as one against the Jews and Israel to withstand God's sovereign will.

Israel, Zionists, Jews can be thankful to have America and Bush standing with and for them but it is not necessary. God can very easily do without them. If His choice is to do with them, fine; if without, that should be fine too, if not better. It also seems to me that if He has decided to restore Israel to the Jews after 2000 years (2500 without sovereignty), He is not about to let it go again.

The question is, where is Israel's or the Jews' trust placed? Where is the faith in the God of Israel (not that God needs it)? Believe in your God, Israel! “How long will you halt between two opinions?”

Travesser the Transgressor

Almost seven years ago we met a man claiming to be the Messiah. He went by the name of “Michael Travesser,” the assumed name of Wayne Bent, the same person that was in the news this week as the “leader of an apocalyptic cult” arrested in New Mexico on unspecified charges. There is talk of child molestation, which Bent denies, though he does admit to having slept with three of his followers’ wives, including his son’s, at the direction of God and the instigation of the women. (“The man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate’” Genesis 3:12 HNV – only these were not the women God gave to Wayne.)

While it is easy to dismiss such antics as those of a delusional sociopath, people who have tried talking to Wayne and his followers have found themselves unable to effectively argue against their delusion. In this string of correspondence, we show Wayne how he is wrong according to the Scriptures he used to justify his sins, while exposing his arrogant, wrongheaded manner for all to see.

Regarding the Jews

You know what their problem is, completely? It is not us, not lack of knowledge, not persecution, not Christianity, not Muslims, not descendants of Ishmael, not Middle East real estate, not a false witness of Christ or the preaching of a false Christ. It is that they reject Jesus Christ, case closed. They were the ones who started it all. Little did they know that those they persecuted would grow, if only in name, to far outnumber them and have the tables turned on them. Their hatred, rejection and persecution of the Messiah and His own backfired on them. And the fruits of their planted seeds are great and heavy.

Yet, that is the way God has set it all up, beginning with salvation of the Gentiles.

The spirit of Calvin is alive, though not well. His time is finished.

Acceptance

Common nominal Christian assumption, spoken or otherwise, is that wolves can be changed to sheep, but such was never meant to be. The wolf, under God, will remain a wolf but be reconciled with the lamb. How? By God’s power and not by our works. As for those wolves who try to be sheep and fail, the issue is not so much that the wolf is changed to something else, as we have surmised and as the wolf has insisted he should or will, but that the wolf will stop trying to not be a wolf. Therefore, there are two changes to come for wolves: one, they will cease trying to be something they are not, and, two, God will change them into “good” wolves, but they will remain wolves, as Isaiah testifies:

“Also the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the cub lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6 MKJV).

Practical Proof of the Spiritual Value of the Word of God

I have been reading Through the Valley of the Kwai by Ernest Gordon; this is the book that the movie To End All Wars was based on. What an excellent example of what the influence of faith and of the Scriptures can do, both collectively and in an individual soul. I have quoted in the following article some excerpts.

The scene is a Japanese prison camp in WWII. The author is writing from personal first-hand experience and describing how the prison went from being a moral mess (as described in the first excerpt) to being a place where the prisoners had hope and purpose in helping others. Read for yourself:

For Kim

Hi Kim (the Kim that spoke to us of Dena’s testimony),

We have tried to locate you according to your husband’s name and have thus far been unsuccessful. We want to thank you for getting in touch with us and telling us what you did. If we appeared defensive, we apologize. If we are defensive and thinking we are better than anybody else, we are wrong, dead wrong. While the Lord has done things for us, there is nothing to be proud of, as if there is any virtue with us, and if we are defensive, then He hasn’t done as much as we need, or perhaps as much as we think He has.

Please do not be afraid to tell us what you will, and thank you for being honest. We think you are right that Dena came across as the wronged one, without fessing up to all her wrongs, which is what a true and decent testimony is more about, and less of telling the sins of others. Because of your input, we have taken measures to tell “the rest of the story,” and Dena has now revised her testimony.

If you have more to say, please e-mail or press the chat button again. The Lord give you the grace to do what is right. We hope to hear you out in all patience, honesty, and without bias.

It is my desire that Truth be served and nothing else.

In Christ’s Name,

Victor

What Are We?

I have just written a paper about the false prophet, John Calvin, and in discussion with Victor, he said:

“No Calvinists are we, nor any -ists, unless we are nonists! A new word, a new category, a new ID, a new thing.

The Lord is doing a new thing.”

Our identities and lives are in Him, not in our doctrines or denials of false doctrine. All of those things, good and necessary as they are, are derived from our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is like Victor’s song, “It's Great to Be Somebody, because you’re nobody, because you’re His.”

Yes, it is an exclusive cult, which by nature says “no” to everything of man, and “yes” to everything of God. This is that well-known yet secret, narrow way in which you will find life.

On Insurance

I do not wish to put my trust in man’s assurance that he, at a price and to his profit, will grudgingly compensate me for losses should calamity strike. Rather, I wish to put my trust in the One Who, for my sake, freely prevents damage.

Should He permit damage to occur for my heart’s sake, I can be assured that He will generously replenish in due time. I also know He will be faithful to provide all my needs in the interim.

If, in His wisdom, He should determine that I should suffer loss, what man or insurance program is there that can prevent Him? On the other hand, if I have no insurance or men appointed to guard me from damage or loss, but God chooses to favor me, will He not keep me? Plainly, this is a matter of faith.

Confusion

Oh, the complications men create for themselves when straying from the Path of Truth! They get entangled in thick undergrowth, brambles and thornbushes, and wander aimlessly without the compass of truth, having lost their way. They struggle and shout at each other, saying, “It’s this way or that…” but all are hopelessly lost until they cry out to the Maker of all things, Who has left them in their chosen devices and confusion until they have had enough and cry out to Him for deliverance and enlightenment.

The Anglican Church is one such case, but is representative, in substance, of all formal, organized religions, be they in Christ’s Name or any other, all faltering and failing, destroying themselves for lack of knowledge. We speak knowledge that they might know the Truth and be made free. Jesus Christ is that Truth, the Way and the Life.

“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 EMTV).

Doctrine

I have not wanted to be doctrinal, yet doctrine is important. True doctrine is fruit, coming from faith. When we give the fruit, people shy away, as if we call it the branch or the trunk. Human Rights?

The Human Rights Commission in Alberta, Canada has had its way and its day. Their apparent goal or at least evident result? Shut down all expression that runs contrary to Acceptable Speech. Even if one speaks honestly and truthfully, yet offends Muslims or homosexuals, intentionally or otherwise, that one will need to watch out lest he (or she - lest we offend feminists) be dragged before the HRC, caused to pay fines to the offended party, and issue a public apology. No trial, no qualified judge, no jury, no justice, no appeal for the defendant, and no cost or risk to the complainant. The commissioner judges the heart and motive, and her judgment is irrevocable. Freedom of speech and religion in Canada are now Passenger Pigeons.

Watch a few of the segments of Ezra Levant’s interrogation, because he ran the Danish cartoons depicting Muhammad in his paper, Western Standard:

http://ezralevant.com/2008/02/welcome-to-laura-ingraham-list.html

This is no different than that which took place in the days of the Inquisition and the Reformation under the dominion of the Catholic Church. I guess there is one difference - that being that, back then, they could burn a person at the stake for their contrary viewpoints. (If given power to do so, do you really think it would be different today? Obviously, you have good cause to think again).

We have recently become aware of one saint who was burned at the stake not under the Catholic Church, but by the “Reformer” John Calvin. We will be writing more of the implications of the death of Michael Servetus in days to come. Keep watch for it under “What’s New?”

“The Law Is Good”

David Butterfield, of davidjbutterfield.blogspot.com, challenges us: “Can you find a single instance in Scripture where Jesus or even just one of the Apostles commanded Christians to keep the Old Testament law?

We answer:

“Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40 MKJV).

The last sentence tells us that the Lord has indeed not done away with the Law (just as He said He had not come to do -see below), but that the way of fulfilling it was not found in the legalistic spirit and approach of the Pharisees. Nevertheless, the Law is good, Paul writes, if a man uses it lawfully (1 Timothy 1:8). It is still required of those that name His Name to fulfill the Law:

“Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17 MKJV).

So now you have two confirming instances of where Jesus said that those who follow Him are required to fulfill the OLD TESTAMENT LAW, apart from the ceremonial and sacrificial (and seconded by the apostle Paul). Did not Jesus say your righteousness would have to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees in their keeping of the Old Testament Law (Matthew 5:20)? There, you have three.

There are many more such Scriptures, this is but a sample. For more teaching on this matter, go to Law and Grace.

Gossip and Slander Will Be Exposed

We hand-delivered a letter to the front desk of Eireann Hafichuk’s place of work on December 27, 2007, in response to rumors we had heard of Eireann’s speaking against us. We are not afraid of the truth (indeed, we are thankful for it) and are ready to stand up to the evil coming our way.
